PBS is a holistic student assessment system used in Malaysia to evaluate academic and non-academic development based on the national curriculum standards. It assesses cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. PBS gives teachers autonomy to implement formative and summative assessments. The PBS components include school assessments designed by teachers, assessment center exams administered at the school level, and assessments of physical activity, sports, and other curricula. The objectives of PBS are to evaluate student potential, monitor growth, and provide meaningful reports on individual learning progress to help students meet international standards.
