Work History
Having started my career within coil winding I was quickly promoted to a machine setter.
The opportunity arose to transfer roles to the Protection Relay Test department where I spent many
years working nightshift. I trained through all test departments, working on 1
st
Generation,
Electromechanical, Hinged Armature, Static Midos and Distance relays. I was promoted to Staff
Tester and eventually took on responsibilities supervising a small nightshift team. In 2007 I joined the
PDSA department, delivering maintenance contracts for National Grid and key Industrial contracts. I
spent a few years working for the DCS team delivering new projects and upgrades before being
drafted back to the PDSA where I trained on programming database configurators. During this period
I implemented a stock database and system workflow process, along with project managing the new
PDSA stockroom and laboratory area. I was further able to expand my skill set by leading a site
refurbishment project for a SCS tap changer control on an existing National Grid site.
