oPromote sustainable urban food system for improved incomes, food
and nutritional security for all
Sector Priorities and Strategies:
oTo ensure sustainable development and management of crops,
livestock and fisheries for food security and social - economic
development
o To provide reliable, accessible, quality and affordable one-health
oTo promote a sustainable urban food system, towards Zero Hunger
Inclusion of Food System in sector goals
5. • 2018: Idea of urban food systems brought up during FAO
project ‘Developing Sustainable Food Systems for Urban
Areas’
• 2019: First draft was developed
• 2020: Validation workshop with key stakeholders
• 2021: Public participation
• 2022: Final document processed and approved
• External stakeholders: Support by FAO and C40 Cities
