2. ….were able to write compound and complex
sentences based on the situation given with hardly
any grammatical and spelling errors.
e.g The lady with a scarf is pouring some orange
juice into the glasses while talking to the girl sitting
on the stool.
The girl with a ponytail is stirring the paint while
sitting on a stool
3. ….made a lot of structural errors and are poor in their
grammar usage. Their vocabulary is very limited.
Mistakes often detected :
i. Grammar : e.g Ali is standing biside her
sister.
i. Vocabulary : e.g The lady is pushing a
wheelchair.
4. iii. Irrelevancy :
e.g One day the family is shopping at the
supermarket.
5. Candidates in the Excellent group
……were able to transfer information accurately and
accordingly into the framework.
Candidates in the Weak group
i. Candidates transfer the information blindly without
understanding the required information in the
framework.
6. ii. Candidates had poor handwriting with many
punctuations and spelling errors.
( mixture of capital and small letters)
They use full stops and comma
unnecessarily.
They break up a word without putting a
hyphen(-) due to limited space given in
the box.
7. i. Omission of letter as in….
e.g “ sings three songs” to “sing three
songs”

ii. Usage of upper and lower cases
e.g : Rm Pp Yy Kk
8. Candidates in the Excellent Group(EX=5m)
….Candidates were able to give reasons and justify
them.
E.g My cousin is a girl and she loves collecting dolls.
Surely, this would be another addition to her
collection. She does not have to buy an extra dress
for the doll as it comes with an additional dress.
Even though it is the most expensive among the
three items, I still can afford it since it is within my
budget.
9. ….able to state their choice but were unable to write
reasons for their choice. They only copied the
information given exactly. (word for word).
Mistakes often detected
I would choose Jumbo the Dancing Elephant
because it is RM30. I like the elephant. It dances for
five minutes. It does not need batteries. It is Kiddy
toys.It trumpets when squeezed. It is free animal
stickers.
10. Candidates were able to write a story using
compound and complex sentences
creatively with hardly any grammatical errors
based on the pictures given.
They were able to write interestingly to sustain the
interest of the readers because there was a good
flow in the story line.
Candidates could add new words, adjectives,
adverbs, similes, metaphors and proverbs
appropriately.
11. Candidates could not relate one picture to
another. Therefore they could not write the story
with a good flow.
They had limited ideas so they wrote very simple
sentences by joining the words given. They did
not add any clause or extra words to make the
story the interesting.
E.g Mrs. Aminah cooked many nasi lemaks to sell.
She packed them with the banana leaves.
12. Need to build strength :
in Grammar ( tenses, adjectives,
adverbs, punctuations…)
Sentence construction (compound and
complex)
Need a good reading culture
Apply “WH” questions to help writing.
13. Explain what is the need to obtain
an A script or a C script.
Model the writing techniques.
Have lots of writing practice.
