En inglés, el pasado simple o past simple es uno de los tiempos verbales esenciales y que se utiliza con mucha frecuencia. 5. Verbs with spelling changes and exceptions
• Here are some spelling rules to keep in mind when applying the simple past:
• 1 If the verb ends in e, just add -d. Example: love (to love) – loved.
• 2 If the verb ends in a consonant plus the y, this is replaced by i and then the
ending -ed is added. Example: cry (cry) – cried. On the other hand, if the
verb ends in a vowel plus y, only the ending -ed is added. Example: enjoy
(enjoy) – enjoyed.
