6 Who, though he was in the
form of God, did not regard
equality with God something
to be grasped.
7 Rather, he emptied himself,
taking the form of a slave,
coming in human likeness;
and found human in
appearance,
8 he humbled himself,
becoming obedient to death,
even death on a cross.
9 Because of this, God
greatly exalted him and bestowed
on him the name that is above
every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every
knee should bend, of those in
heaven and on earth and under
the earth,
11 and every tongue confess that
Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory
of God the Father.

Jesus was humble
Jesus was humble, so humble that he
was willing to give up his life because
His Father asked him.
We need to develop this humility
ourselves.
In our culture the humble don’t seem
to get a lot of respect.
Remember that Jesus told us, “Who
ever humbles himself like a child is
the greatest in the kingdom of
heaven (Mt. 18:4).
You can approach life as someone who
wants to be served by others.
Think back on the people you have
met.
Who do you remember and respect
most?
The Mother who changed your diapers
or the
arrogant, surly bank teller?
Humility is hard to develop in our
world but the humble are those who
are building up treasure in the next
world.
Which is more important a temporary
or an eternal life?
