A computer is an electronic device comprising hardware (physical components like monitor, keyboard, and CPU) and software (programs like MS Word and operating systems) that serves various functions including education and research. The monitor is an output device for displaying information, while the mouse and keyboard are input devices used for user interaction. The CPU, known as the brain of the computer, processes data and controls other components.

2. What is Computer ?
• A computer is a electronic
device which consists of
hardware and software.
USES
o Drawing, painting, playing
games.
o Calculations, learning,
research purposes, school
assignments and etc.
o Computers also made
education easier.

3. Hardware and Software
 Hardware is the physical parts
of computer which we can see,
touch or feel.
Examples of Hardware is
monitor, keyboard, mouse,
CPU, etc.
Software includes the program
which used to perform specific
tasks. It cannot be touch or
feel, we can only see it.
Examples of Software is MS-
Word, MS-Excel, MS-
PowerPoint, Operating
System, etc

4. MONITOR
 It is a part of computer
used to display images,
pictures, texts and
information’s in the
monitor screen.
 It is a OUTPUT DEVICE.
 It is a primary use of
monitor.

5. MOUSE
 Mouse is a pointing
device used to control the
cursor on the screen.
 Mouse is a INPUT
DEVICE.
 Mouse is also known by
‘mice’ .
 Mouse consists of two
buttons, a scroll, wheel
and a laser sensor.

6. CPU
 CPU stands for ‘Central
Processing Unit’ .
 CPU is connected with
the mouse.
 CPU also referred as
‘Brain of the computer’ .
 CPU itself has three
components are
ALU(Arithmetic Logic
Unit), Control Unit and
Main Memory.

7. KEYBOARD
Keyboard is commonly
used for typing
alphabets, numeric and
symbols.
 Keyboard have ‘function
keys, control keys,
numeric keys, arrow keys
and alphabets’ .
 Keyboard is a ‘INPUT
DEVICE’ .
