Briettny Curtner organized a rummage sale parking lot fundraiser as her senior project to leave a legacy for Rosemont High School's music program. She advertised the event through social media, flyers, and the school marquee. After obtaining proper permits and fees, the event was scheduled for a bearable outdoor date that did not conflict with other activities. Briettny recruited music students as volunteers by presenting the opportunity in music classes and leaving sign-up sheets. On the day of the successful event, $150 was raised for the music program. Through organizing the fundraiser, Briettny gained knowledge about managing obstacles and the inner workings of her high school.

In order to keep my event music orientated, I decided to reserve the ability to
volunteer only for music students. Those within the program will have more
motivation than those who have never touched an instrument.

In today’s economy, I understand that it’s not a fortune. However, the
fact that I had no prior experience in organizing an event and
originally was just a project I needed to complete, I feel accomplished
knowing that my legacy was left behind with Rosemont’s Music
Program.
