The Paramount logo represents the studio's view of itself as superior to other film companies by depicting a mountain high in the sky above everything else. While the basic logo design of a mountain has remained the same over time, the color and quality has changed with improvements in technology to make the mountain look more realistic. Paramount Pictures was founded in 1912 by Adolph Zukor, Jesse L. Lasky and W.W. Hodkins and is now owned by Viacom. In addition to Paramount, Viacom owns DreamWorks, MTV Films, Nickelodeon Movies, and several television networks including MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and BET.
