The Parallella project aims to democratize access to supercomputing by creating an affordable parallel computing platform. The Parallella computer is a credit card-sized, open source platform based on Adapteva's Epiphany multicore chips. These chips contain an array of simple processors connected by an on-chip network, allowing applications to achieve high performance at low power. The goal of the Parallella project is to make parallel computing easier to use and bring supercomputing capabilities to everyone for just $99.

It breaks large problems into smaller units that can be processed in parallel by multiple networked computers. Properly implemented distributed computing complements processing and networking, but malicious uses can launch brute force attacks too powerful for normal defenses. Distributed computing requires monitoring to prevent misuse while preserving legitimate applications.

Distributed computing is a form of parallel computing, but parallel computing is most commonly used to describe program parts running simultaneously on multiple processors in the same computer. Both types of processing require dividing a program into parts that can run simultaneously, but distributed programs often must deal with heterogeneous environments, network links of varying latencies, and unpredictable failures in the network or the computers.

Planet lab : cloud vs grid computing
PlanetLab is a global research network supporting network services development since 2003. It has over 1000 researchers using its 530 nodes across 717 sites to develop technologies like distributed storage, networking mapping, peer-to-peer systems, and distributed query processing. Cloud computing provides resources through services rather than direct access, while grid computing involves aggregating distributed resources for tasks like number crunching. The objective is to understand how PlanetLab can maintain benefits while preparing for the future, and to compare grid and cloud computing models in terms of assembly, offered services, and differences in scale. The conclusion is that cloud computing will become the main information technology as it realizes the vision of grid computing through standardization and dynamic pricing models.

Distributed Computing
Distributed computing deals with hardware and software systems containing more than one processing element or storage element, concurrent processes, or multiple programs, running under a loosely or tightly controlled regime. In distributed computing a program is split up into parts that run simultaneously on multiple computers communicating over a network. Distributed computing is a form of parallel computing, but parallel computing is most commonly used to describe program parts running simultaneously on multiple processors in the same computer. Both types of processing require dividing a program into parts that can run simultaneously, but distributed programs often must deal with heterogeneous environments, network links of varying latencies, and unpredictable failures in the network or the computers.

This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and

ABSTRACT Parallel computing is a form of computation in which many calculations are carried out simultaneously, based on the theory that - divide larger problems into smaller ones, and execute them concurrently. Which will helps to reduce the execution time and to improve the computational efficiency. Making parallel computing easy to use and bring supercomputing to everyone is a problem as hard as any, that computer science has faced. Parallella project is a proposed solution for this problem. The Parallella project was launched on Kickstarter in the fall of 2012 at an entry price point of $99 each, with the goal of “Democratizing Access to supercomputing”. This is offered by joining individual Parallella boards, capable of performing parallel computing tasks together in Ethernet-connected clusters. The Parallella computer platform is an open source, energy efficient, high performance, credit card sized computer, based on the Epiphany multicore chips from Adapteva. This affordable platform is designed for developing and implementing high performance, parallel processing. The Epiphany chips consist of a scalable array of simple RISC processors. The mesh of independent cores is connected together with a fast on chip network within single shared memory architecture. Thus applications developed on Epiphany parallel processor can achieve unprecedented performance at the lowest power in the industry.
