GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE PARAGRAPH • It is the set of main and secondary ideas that are organized to express one idea on a specific subject in a given text. • It is the union of different ideas, which can support or not the subject of the text presented. • They are created, form and/or are arranged according to the different types of texts that may exist. • A single text can contain different types of paragraphs, such as: descriptive, narrative, argumentative and expository • Paragraphs can be combined according to the need of express or write the purpose of the text

ACCORDING TO ITS LOCATION • Opening paragraph: • Its purpose is the more essential because it presents the beginning of what is being treated, presents to the reader the thesis, problem solve, or theme attractions that may be striking to him or her. • It may contain or be developed as: • Syinthesis • Interrogative phrase • Anecdote • Appointment

IN ACCORDANCE WITH ITS LOGICAL STRUCTURE • Paragraph sequence or process: recounts a series of events or a process in certain order. • Deductive paragraph: presents to the reader the main ideas from the outset, indicating general topics speaking to then present specific cases. • Inductive paragraph: presents the reader secondary ideas since the beginning of the reading then get to a thematic idea or detailed conclusion of what has been raised. • Conclusion paragraph: is used to close the theme that has been established or made known to the reader.

IN ACCORDANCE WITH ITS LOGICAL STRUCTURE • Comparative paragraph: is the way to establish the differences or similarities between two objects or phenomena. • Cause and effect paragraph: presents an event followed by motives has caused it and that derive from itself. • Paragraph approach and solve a problem: can be divided into two parts, the first, the problem occurs and the second sets the solution.
