How would you react if the person you had unprotected sex with tells you they’re HIV positive
or has AIDS? Someone else with this disease or virus could change your life. The disease AIDS
does not discriminate: You can be any color, age, height, or weight. This doesn’t have a name on
it; it doesn’t care who you are. How could we prevent this disease? There isn’t any way to stop it
once you become infected. All we can do is be more careful and protect ourselves. One way that
we could protect ourselves is by using condoms.
Sometimes you get a headache, sweat when it’s hot, and forget things that we don’t want
to remember, or lose weight when we get ready. A person that is infected with HIV or AIDS
loses energy, has weight loss, frequent fevers, sweats, and has short term memory loss and more.
This is something that they can’t control. On the other hand, we can take Advil to stop the
headache, when it’s hot we can turn on a fan or something and when we want to lose weight we
go on a diet. Who wants to live a life they can’t control?
“25 million people have died from AIDS in the past 27 years.” (Impact) Certain groups
are at a high risk of HIV, including men having sex with other men. If a man has sex with
another man there is nothing anyone can do about it. A woman can’t compete with another man;
a woman could compete with another woman though. She could put heels, makeup, a dress or
whatever, but on the other hand a man and a woman are two totally different people. A woman
can’t treat her man the way another man could.
There are some advantages and disadvantages to the treatment of AIDS. “Raw vegetables
and fruits can provide plenty of energy, vitamins, fiber, and enzymes. When you make a liquid
with raw fruits and vegetables it can preserve as many nutrients as possible that can be absorbed
and utilized by the body. The disadvantages are, that with this disease it makes you tired, you

lose your concentration, you have nasty pimple on your face, you will have flu-like illness, and
cause enlarged lymph glands in the neck, you will also complain of fever and frequent
headaches.” (Advantages) Who would want to rely on fruits and vegetables for energy or go
through any of these disadvantages?
There is a big percentage of people in the world today that have unprotected sex. This is
why you should protect your self. When you protect your self you also are protecting your
health and your life. Condoms are highly effective against the most dangerous of sexually
transmitted infections, which is HIV the virus that causes AIDS.
Some people think there is a cure for AIDS. There is no cure for AIDS or HIV infections.
Although “Antiretroviral treatment can suppress HIV, which causes AIDS and can delay illness
for many years, it cannot clear the virus completely.”(Impact) So basically once you get AIDS
there is no way to get rid of it. AIDS can never be cleaned out of a persons immune system, so
that’s why I cant stress to you enough to be careful and protect yourself.
When most people have HIV or AIDS they keep it a secret. How do you tell someone
you have AIDS? Deciding who to tell may take a short or long time. There is no right way to do
this. It is a very personal choice that only you can make.
There will be a many of people who will not just come out and say that they are infected.
Yes they will be judged or looked at differently even though I know that’s wrong. Some know
that if its known that they are infected their life is basically over. For many they know that they
can no longer be sexually active with others. Then again there will be others with that “don’t
care” attitude and will continue to spread the virus. You think that you love someone, and they
love you? If you think so then why don’t the both of you get tested? It would be for the both of

your health. This could help the two of you live a long healthy life. Also start a family and know
that you are facing no health risks or giving each other any kinds of diseases. If you don’t get
tested you could be starting a family at a risk. You or your partner could be giving on another a
disease then spreading the harmful infection to a child that is being created. To avoid this
situation you should get tested.
AIDS eliminates your bodys ability of infection. You don’t die from AIDS; you die from
diseases from which your body cannot fight. This is why you should get tested before its too late.
“A person should be tested for HIV every six months if they have a concern, but more frequently
if they are part of a high rick population” (Comprehensive)
You should always protect yourself and continue to get tested. Having HIV or AIDS can
change the way people look at you. This can result in being shunned by family, for example:
some family would talk about you to other family members. Or would maybe tell you that they
don’t want you around. It may not be said in a wrong way but you would probably take it in that
way. By you knowing your situation this would make you feel bad and also wish you would have
never said anything. I have seen a movie before and the people didn’t want to be around him and
always treated him mean. So he spreads the virus. He seen that he could not be around people
with out them saying anything bad about him so he decided not to tell any one else and spreader
the disease. This can also change how people treat you as well. You could receive poor
treatement in health care, this can affect your education settings, an erosion of your rights,
psychological damage and can negavtively affect the success of HIV testing and treatment
If a person “love” tell me they are infected I would be very angry. Who would I be angry
with? First off, I would be angry with myself, I agreed to having unprotected sex. There are

others that do the same. If there wasn’t HIV or AIDS the world would be a whole lot better.
There would be more people in the world today, but the disadvantage would be everyone would
be having sex with everyone. How would this affect the people around you? What if you find out
you are HIV positive or have AIDS? There is no way this can affect a persons life for the better,
so how can we change this? We could talk to people a little more to show them that we care
about their health .we can talk them into getting tested.
