About the Sector
• Retail Industry consists of all companies that sell goods and services to consumers.
• It accounts for over 10% of the company’s gross domestic product(GDP).
• India is 5th largest Global destination in the retail space.
• India’s retail industry is projected to grow at a slower pace of 9% over 2019-2030.
• India’s direct selling industry would be valued at US$ 2.14 billion by the end of 2021.
About the company and Department
• Pantaloons are on an organized retail company.
• founded on 1917 by future group but at 2013 Aditya Birla acquired it.
• The parent company of pantaloons is Aditya Birla fashion and Retail Ltd.
• List of Pantaloons Brands.
Pantaloons’s Strength
• Pantaloons is one of India’s largest retailer having 100+ stores across 40 cities in India.
• It manages high number of purchase orders.
• It is always updated with changing consumer preferences.
• Strong online presence of the brand helps to tap the internet market.
• Pantaloons offers a wide variety of clothes for men, women and children.
• Advertising, branding and discounts have enabled the brand to capture the youth.
Pantaloons’s Weakness
• Intense competition from retail stores and online shopping brands.
• Too many options for customers hence high brand switching and low brand loyalty.
Pantaloons Opportunities
• Pantaloons can increase the footfalls by increasing ATL – TV commercial promotions.
• Organized retail is only small percentage of total Indian retail industry.
• Tie-ups with fashion institutes and even online brands can help increase sales for Pantaloons.
Pantaloons Threats
• Strong competition from unorganized retail sector.
• Government policies are not well defined in emerging markets.
• Online shopping taking away market share of retailers like Pantaloons.

Internship Summary
• Induction program conducted by Amitesh Sir(Department Manger)
• he guided us regarding how to perform our tasks, how to greet customers and how to pitch them.
• We are assigned to tele calling of 11,000 green card customers.
• I have talked with 3000 customers and invited them for End Of Season Sell of Pantaloons .
• I was assigned as department in-charge of men's wear.
• I have learn about segregation of discounted products. Replenishment of stocks, Stock analysis, tag checking.
• I have been trained how to take feedbacks from customers.
• I can identify KYBC and pitch the customers for big bills.
• I have learnt about stock taking process.
• I have physically scanned garments and gained knowledge of mismatching and stock taking process.

• Research is an organized and systematic way of finding answer to question.
Data Collection Method
The methodology adopted for data collection for the marketing activities the tie-ups with-
• Restaurants
• Pubs
• Saloons
• Laundries
• Socities.
Learning and Findings
Learnings :-
• first thing I learnt at pantaloons the team work and working culture.
• Importance of customer satisfactions in Retail
• Handling the customer on the floor and increase the sale
• Making good relationship with the customer
• Ground level works like-folding,counting,tagging,hanging,ironing.
• A little about warehousing
• Exchange and Return process.
• Green card loyalty program.
Findings:-
• Segregation by offer and size display is more important thing for increase conversion rate
• Customer interaction is also plays a major role.
• Offer display should be done properly.
• Pantaloons has the value pricing method in organized retail.
Suggestions
• They should arrange more sit near cash counter as customer can take rest.
• Billing system should be fast more.
• There should be a set of size in products.
• Should displayed about GST
• Offer details should be more proper and well maintained in every browser.
