This document discusses PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections). PANDAS is an autoimmune disorder where antibodies meant to fight strep infections instead attack the basal ganglia of the brain, causing symptoms like obsessive-compulsive disorder, tics, anxiety, and issues with focus and motor skills. The cause is believed to be molecular mimicry. Diagnosis and treatment options are discussed.
