Johann Pachelbel was a German Baroque composer, organist, and teacher born in 1653 in Nuremberg, Germany. He brought the south German organ tradition to its peak and his music was very popular during his lifetime, influencing many composers. Today he is best known for his Canon in D, which has become known as "Pachelbel's Canon", despite it being the only canon he wrote.
