The document summarizes an evaluation of a personal learning environment (PLE) called the Learning About Politics (LAP) Platform. The LAP Platform was developed by the POLITICS project to help users learn about politics and civic engagement using digital storytelling and Web 2.0 tools. An evaluation approach was used that included questionnaires and feedback from stakeholders to evaluate the platform formatively and summatively. The evaluation identified strengths of the educational materials and collaborative learning opportunities, but also weaknesses in areas like navigation, personalization, and cultural responsiveness. Based on the evaluation, improvements were made to the learning methodology, content, PLE design, and evaluation tools.
This document discusses digital society and social networks. It provides an overview of the speaker's background and research interests in areas like digital society, eDemocracy, and public sector innovation. It then covers content about Web 2.0 tools, how they enable collaboration and sharing. Examples are given of popular social media platforms and statistics on Norwegian social media users. The document also discusses studies of how politicians, municipalities, and social movements have utilized social media for communication and campaigns.

1) Libraries are shifting from traditional Library 1.0 models to new Library 2.0 models that are more collaborative, digital, and accessible online rather than being tied to physical spaces.
2) Library marketing also needs to shift from traditional print-based methods to new online and social media methods like blogs, tweets, Facebook posts, and Flickr photo sharing in order to engage more library patrons who are increasingly using these technologies.
3) When marketing through social media, libraries should publicize events, share interesting stories and photos, and keep patrons regularly updated through approaches like maintaining a Twitter feed and Facebook page. This helps libraries better connect with their communities in the new Library 2.0 environment.

The publication presents the effect of cooperation within the project from the Erasmus + program "E-citizen - effective inclusion through e-governance services". The project involved entities from such countries as Poland, Turkey, the Czech Republic and Spain.
The project concerns the exchange of practices in the field of effective incorporation of the activities realized by local and regional administration. In the digital age of today, there are more and more opportunities for citizens to become involved in using the available e-services. On the other hand, local and regional authorities are increasingly facilitating the citizens' cooperation with various types of applications and virtual platforms. They care about the fact that public institutions have ceased to be perceived as hostile institutions for residents, hindering their daily life and dealing with administrative matters. Moreover, often in the context of such e-services they offer opportunities for participation, e.g. in the public consultations or in forms of civic participation. Unfortunately, this offer is still very inaccessible to people with low competences and digital skills. Due to the lack of effective ways in terms of learning using e-government services, some part of the population is even more excluded socially. For this reason, the project handle the issue of social inclusion through using the open and innovative practices related to new technologies. Therefore, the main objective is using the idea of e-governance and e-government as a tool for more effective social inclusion of EU citizens. Through the development of good practices in adults teaching effectively, especially for those who have low educational competences, we can change this situation and take advantage of the potential of e-government fully.
The document discusses the AmplifyFE network, which connects communities of practice for digital learning in vocational education. It provides an update on the sector audit conducted in 2020 and 2021, which found that the number of communities increased from 100 to 130. Twitter remains the most popular platform, and new hashtags like #AmplifyFE have generated nearly 10,000 tweets. The audit is a comprehensive map of networking opportunities in the vocational education sector.
Value and Impact of social media in Multi-disciplinary Cross-Border projectsWeb2LLP
This document discusses the value and impact of social media in cross-border projects. It begins by noting that social media is important for increasing project value and impact through communication, engagement, and reaching new audiences. Statistics are provided showing the widespread adoption of social media platforms globally and across demographics. The document then discusses challenges projects face in using social media effectively and introduces the WEB2LLP project, which aims to develop skills and resources to help projects set up coherent social media strategies. Key concepts discussed include building community, engagement, collaboration, and flexibility. Case studies are presented of different projects that demonstrated these concepts successfully.
The document summarizes the development and operation of the Scottish Information Literacy Community of Practice, which was created with limited funding to continue the work of the Scottish Information Literacy Project. It discusses establishing an online presence, engaging members, and sharing practices. The community has grown to over 100 members and facilitated collaboration around projects. Key lessons learned include the importance of partnerships, cross-sector work, supporting practitioners, encouraging participation through meetings and writing, and recognizing that communities of practice require sustained time and interaction from members.

The document summarizes the development and operation of the Scottish Information Literacy Community of Practice, which was created with no funding to continue the work of the Scottish Information Literacy Project. It discusses how the community was built online and engaged members across sectors through biannual meetings. While face-to-face meetings and coordination of activities have worked well, broader member engagement and blogging have been challenges. Lessons learned include the importance of partnerships, cross-sector work, and sustained interaction over time to develop the shared domain, community, and practices needed for a successful community of practice.

THE SACRIFICE HOW PRO-PALESTINE PROTESTS STUDENTS ARE SACRIFICING TO CHANGE T...indexPub
The recent surge in pro-Palestine student activism has prompted significant responses from universities, ranging from negotiations and divestment commitments to increased transparency about investments in companies supporting the war on Gaza. This activism has led to the cessation of student encampments but also highlighted the substantial sacrifices made by students, including academic disruptions and personal risks. The primary drivers of these protests are poor university administration, lack of transparency, and inadequate communication between officials and students. This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.
