P2 A- GENRE- GTA V
The genre of Grand Theft Auto V is Action-Adventure. It is an open world
action-adventure and on some platforms there is a mode that can be
enabled that makes GTA V a first-person shooter. The player can control
three main protagonists in single-player missions, switching between the
three between missions. The genre is action-adventure as the story is
centred upon heist sequences with many missions involving shooting and
driving gameplay, whilst focusing upon a narrative thread throughout, with
the adventure genre coming from the expansive map and narrative thread.

P2 A- GENRE- THAT DRAGON, CANCER
• That Dragon, Cancer is an art game, which is a work of interactive New Media and focuses on
the artistic design of the game as opposed to the main focus being the gameplay.
• This is also a point and click game, which is where the focus of the game rather than using
analog controls to move the character, players can simply press on the object they wish to
interact with and select any of the other options on that object to force the character to
interact.
• The lack of faces in the game may also suggest that the game is dehumanised, meaning that
the main genre would change slightly as other games focus on character development,
making this game unique and therefore making it a more niche genre of first person
experience.

P2 A- GENRE- WWE 2K16
WWE 2K16 is a sports game based on the sports-
entertainment/ Professional Wrestling company WWE. The
game focuses on in-ring competition with multiple modes
and match types in which players can play matches. While
the game is a sports game, there is also narrative included
in the Showcase mode, which although still focusing on in-
ring competition, introduces objectives, cut scenes and
video packages to show the story of some of WWE’s
”Legends” (former wrestlers who were headliners for the
company). The extensive sporting aspect can be seen in
the over 120 unique playable characters (not including
DLC) and 46 match types of WWE’s most famous faces and
matches.

P2 A- GENRE- ASSASSIN’S CREED: REVELATIONS
The genre of Assassin’s Creed Revelations is action-adventure
video game set in an open world setting. The player can control
the three main protagonists in single-player missions, switching
between the three for different missions and parts of the story.
The genre is action-adventure as the story is centred upon
stealth sequences with many missions involving melee and new
shooting gameplay, whilst focusing upon a narrative thread
throughout, with the adventure genre coming from the
expansive map and narrative threads.

P2 B- NARRATIVE/STORYLINE- GTA V
Nine years after a botched robbery in Ludendorff, former bank robber Michael Townley lives under witness protection with his family in Los Santos, San Andreas, under the
alias Michael De Santa. He meets a gangster named Franklin Clinton when the latter attempts to repossess his son's car on behalf of a corrupt Armenian car salesman. When
Michael discovers his wife Amanda has been sleeping with her tennis coach, he chases the coach to a mansion and destroys it. The mansion's owner turns out to be the
girlfriend of Mexican drug lord Martin Madrazo, who demands compensation. Michael goes back into a life of crime to obtain the money and enlists Franklin to help.
Together, they perform a jewellery shop heist to help pay the debt. The betrayed survivor of the botched heist, Trevor Philips, hears of the jewellery heist and realises that it
was Michael who carried out the job. Trevor tracks Michael down in Los Santos.
Their personal lives then begin to spiral out of control. Michael's increasingly erratic behaviour prompts his family to leave him, and his attempts to make something of
himself bring him into conflict with Devin Weston, a self-made billionaire who develops a grudge against him. Weston vows revenge after his lawyer dies in an accident that
Michael is blamed for. Franklin rescues his friend Lamar Davis from gangster and former friend Harold "Stretch" Joseph, who repeatedly attempts to kill Lamar to prove
himself to his gang. Trevor's reckless efforts to consolidate his control over various black markets in Blaine County see him waging war against the San Andreas chapter of
The Lost outlaw motorcycle club, a number of Latin American street gangs, rival meth dealers, government-sponsored mercenaries and Triad kingpin Wei Cheng.
Federal Investigation Bureau (FIB) government agents Dave Norton and Steve Haines contact Michael and demand that he perform a series of operations with Franklin and
Trevor to undermine a rival agency, the International Affairs Agency (IAA).Under Haines' direction, they attack an armoured convoy carrying funds intended for the IAA and
raid a bank containing the payroll for all corrupt police and public officials in Los Santos. As Haines comes under increasing scrutiny for his methods, he forces Franklin and
Michael to infiltrate the FIB headquarters and erase any evidence being used against him from their servers. Michael takes the opportunity to wipe any data on his own
activities, destroying Haines' leverage over him. The trio start planning their most daring feat ever: raiding the Union Depository's gold reserve.
Michael makes amends with his family and they return to Los Santos. Meanwhile, Trevor discovers that a former Ludendorff heist accomplice, Brad Snider, was not in prison
as he was led to believe, but killed during the heist and buried in the grave marked for Michael. Trevor's feelings of betrayal cause friction within the group and threaten to
undermine their Union Depository plans. When Michael and Norton, both of whom are betrayed by Haines, are caught in a Mexican standoff between the FIB, IAA and
private security firm Merryweather, Trevor aids in their escape, holding that only he has the right to kill Michael. Despite not forgiving Michael, Trevor still wants to perform
the Union Depository heist; the duo agree to part ways afterwards.
The Union Depository heist is completed successfully, but Franklin is approached by two parties separately who demand that he kill Trevor or Michael. Haines and Norton
contend that Trevor is a liability, and Weston wants retribution for Michael's betrayal. Franklin has three choices: kill Michael, kill Trevor or kill neither and face their enemies
together. Should Franklin kill either Michael or Trevor, he ceases contact with the survivor and returns to his old life. Should he kill neither, the trio withstand an onslaught
from the FIB and Merryweather before going on to kill Haines, Stretch, Cheng and Weston. Michael and Trevor reconcile, and the three cease working together but remain
friends.

P2 B- NARRATIVE/STORYLINE- THAT
DRAGON, CANCER
That Dragon, Cancer is a game following the story of Joel Green, a child who, at
12 months old, was diagnosed with an atypical teratoid rhabdoid brain tumour,
which left him mentally underdeveloped and unable to speak until past age 2
and forced the doctors to diagnose him with only 6 months to live. Joel instead
lived for 4 years, and the game follows his and his parents experiences over the
4 years of ups and downs, including treatments, family days out and the feelings
and experiences of other family members throughout narration. The game
serves as an interactive and personal memoir for Joel’s parents and was created
with the intent to memorialize Joel.

P2 B-NARRATIVE/STORYLINE- WWE 2K16
• 2K Showcase- Players follow the WWE career of ”Stone Cold” Steve Austin
from some of his early matches in WCW, ECW and as The Ringmaster, the
start of his meteoric rise to fame at King of the Ring 1996 and his legendary
Wrestlemania matches against Bret “The Hitman” Hart, Shawn Michaels and
The Rock, as well as his memorable and well-documented rivalry with WWE
CEO Mr McMahon.
• My Career- Players can create their own superstar and influence their career,
from their start in WWE Developmental show NXT, all the way to retirement
and the illustrious Hall of Fame. Players compete in matches to earn “Virtual
Currency” which allows them to buy “managers”, skills and abilities, in order
to win championships and become the best superstar.
• WWE Universe- Here, players can manage WWE programming, creating
shows, matches and putting together Pay-Per-Views (monthly WWE shows
where the best matches take place and the championships are on the line).
However, should players decide they do not want to make the matches, they
can simply play through matches created by the game itself.

P2 B- NARRATIVE/STORYLINE- ASSASSIN’S CREED:
REVELATIONS
• Assassin’s Creed Revelations follows all three main characters from the Assassin’s Creed Series: Desmond
Miles, Altaîr Ibn-La’Ahad and Ezio Auditore da Firenze.
• The main part of the story takes Ezio to Constantinople in 1511, (consisting of four districts: Constantine,
Bayezid, Imperial, and Galata); Cappadocia during the rise of the Ottoman Empire (part of which is a
completely underground city populated solely by Templars);and Masyaf (where the old Assassins'
stronghold is located) (featured in the first Assassin's Creed game), where Ezio travels at the beginning of
the game. He discovers Altaïr has sealed in the fortress an ancient artifact that is said to be a powerful
weapon which could end the Templar-Assassin War forever, and hid the keys in Constantinople. Ezio uses
these relics of the "First Civilization" that hold memories of Altaïr to relive Altaïr's experiences, during
which players control Altaïr.
• The game continues Desmond's story in the present day, following the events of Brotherhood, where he is
trapped in the Animus 2.0, in a coma, in which he has found a safe mode known as "the Black Room". Here,
Desmond must find a "synch nexus", a key memory that links him with Altaïr and Ezio, to reintegrate his
splintered subconscious and awaken from his coma.
• While in the game, Ezio meets a variety of historical characters including: Manuel Palaiologos, an heir to
the now-lost Byzantine Empire; Byzantine Templars lurking in the shadows of Constantinople; Prince
Suleiman, a man who will one day become one of the Ottoman Empire's greatest Sultans; and his uncle,
Prince Ahmet.

P2 C- PRODUCTION PROCESS- GTA V
Rockstar Games began to produce GTA V immediately following the release of GTA IV in 2009, with 1,000
people at Rockstar North focusing on the game’s development. The development of this game caused
their RAGE engine to be overhauled in order to improve the draw distance for the rendering capabilities.
An estimated figure places the game’s development at around £170 million, making GTA V the most
expensive game ever made at that time. The open world was modelled on Southern California and Los
Angeles, modelled by field research teams who used phot and video research in order to render the cities
into the game. The main desire of the game was to introduce the three-protagonist idea, building upon
the ideas of the most successful GTA game San Andreas. They also sought to greatly improve the shooting
mechanics and rework the driving mechanics to improve upon GTA IV’s difficult vehicle controls. Rockstar
Games hosted audition processes for actors to play the protagonists and their performances were mostly
recorded on motion capture. The game was also the first in the series to feature an original score, in
addition to their 214 licensed tracks played on the fictional radio stations in the game. The game was
announced by Rockstar Games on October 25th 2011 with the trailer debuting a week later. Journalists
noted that the trailer encouraged widespread anticipation for the release. As part of the viral campaign,
Rockstar introduced “The Epsilon Programme”, a fictional cult offering players the chance to feature in the
game as members of the cult. GTA V was available both Physically and Digitally on the Xbox Store and
PlayStation Store with an Atomic Blimp DLC and Online Content Creator DLC and GTA Beach Bum Pack Fall
Updates all released on November 29th 2013.

P2 C- PRODUCTION PROCESS- THAT
DRAGON, CANCER
• The game was developed by a small team of 8 people who's software development was so
limited that due to technological and budgetary restraints could not create characters with
faces as they did not have the ability or the money to render the faces. However, Ryan
Green did state that the reason he was not concerned with the lack of faces was that the
players could more easily imagine themselves in that situation, to create more of a realistic
and hard-hitting tone.
• The project was funded by a Kickstarter campaign that earned over 3,700 supporters who
donated over £100,000 despite their target being only £85,000
• During the development of That Dragon, Cancer, the storyline had 70% of it re-written
after Joel’s death, as the previous draft had been produced unbeknownst of Joel’s fate and
focused on the story much from Ryan and Amy Green’s perspective, which the two felt
made the game feel more selfish and they re-wrote to make it more focused on
interactions with Joel.
• The game was developed in the hope that the game would help others to cope and open
up with others with the loss of loved ones.

P2 C- PRODUCTION PROCESS- WWE 2K16
• For WWE 2K16, the production of previous games was retained, changing and improving some features, with the
reversals system (how to counter another player’s moves in matches) being given a limit to avoid player “spamming”
(repeatedly countering) reversals all match.
• On next-gen consoles (PS4 and Xbox One), there are no longer loading screens between entrances and players have a
new ability to ”break out” of entrances, in order to attack their opponent during their entrance.
• Furthermore, improvements were made to the referee and manager AI systems.
• As for in-ring improvements, the chain wrestling (realistic versions of wrestling inspired by the Greco-Roman
wrestling style) system was reworked, along with the pinfall and submission (ways of victory) minigames being re-
worked and improved with a completely new system allowing for fairer breakouts, as well as new animations for dirty
pins (illegal pins involving wrestlers’ feet on the ropes that will be cancelled should the referee see) and cancelled
pins, with the final new addition being rest holds that allow characters to regain stamina.
• Gameplay on PS3 and Xbox 360 remains largely the same with some smoother animations for a number of moves.
• Handicap tag team (2-on-1 or 3-on-1 matches) and tornado tag (tag team matches without the requirement of
tagging players in and out) returning after being removed in WWE 2K15.
• WWE 2K16 was first announced by 2K Games with ”Stone Cold” being announced as the game’s cover star on the
July 6th 2015 episode of WWE Raw, which was announced by a trailer showing Austin digging in the desert and
pulling out his customised “Smoking Skull” WWE Championship. 2K then announced Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800
Terminator as a pre-order playable character along with a trailer featuring Schwarzenegger, Daniel Bryan, Eva Marie,
Paige, Finn Balor and Dean Ambrose in a re-enactment of the Terminator 2 Bar scene. 2K then released the first
screenshot of the game showing the raw announce table with JBL’s (commentator) hat on it. With IGN handling the
sporadic release of screenshots and roster inclusions from then on until the release.

P2 C- PRODUCTION PROCESS- ASSASSIN’S CREED:
REVELATIONS
• Initially conceived as a Nintendo 3DS Game about Ezio travelling to Masyaf where he would have discovered
the origins of the assassin’s order, it was announced during Nintendo’s E3 conference in 2010 and then quietly
cancelled and developed into Assassin’s Creed Revelations.
• In November 2010, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot teased “something Assassin’s Creed related” in 2011 and then
confirmed a “big Assassin’s Creed game in 2011”.
• On April 29th 2011, the game’s name was announced on the Assassin’s Creed Facebook page along with a
teaser trailer with Arabic writing hinting at Altair’s inclusion in the game as well as shots of Constantinople.
The game was then officially announced by Ubisoft at Electronic Entertainment Expo 2011 (E3 2011).
• The game was developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Annecy, Massive, Quebec, Singapore and Bucharest. The game
was criticised by Nolan North (voice of Desmond Miles) for using different actors for the voices and motion
capture, rather than using the same actor for both, stating there was a “disconnect in the Ubisoft Game’s
current setup”.
• Ubisoft then announced a PSN timed exclusive multiplayer Beta on August 10th 2011 which started September
3rd 2011 and finished September 17th 2011.
• To promote Revelations, an exclusive costume for Sackboy was made available in Little Big Planet 2 and an
additional multiplayer character was made available to all who pre-ordered from Best Buy.
• Additionally, Ubisoft released an Assassin's Creed: Revelations Avatar collection Xbox 360, which includes a
Codex prop, Desmond's black hoodie, and a pet eagle. Also, the following outfits will be available: Ezio,
Bombardier, Guardian, Sentinel, and Vanguard (female only).

P2 D- CHARACTERS- GTA V
Playable Characters include:
1. Michael De Santa- Played by Ned Luke, Michael is in his 40’s with a wife, Amanda
and two children Jimmy and Tracey. Michael’s ability as a main character is to
enter bullet time whilst in combat situations.
2. Franklin Clinton- Played by Shawn “Solo” Fonteno, Franklin is a former gangster
who leaves his gang life with ambitions for big money and begins to work in car
repossessions alongside his best friend Lamar. Franklin’s ability is to slow down
time whilst driving in order to be more accurate and travel easier at faster speeds.
3. Trevor Phillips- Played by Steven Ogg, Trevor is a cnadian-american who was born
into a family with a physically abusive father and an emotionally abusive mother.
Trevor’s special ability allows all damage he deals to be augmented, dealing extra
damage for a small period of time and is allowed to perform a unique melee
attack in this time.
4. Other characters include the Technical Supporter Lester Crest, Franklin’s best
friend Lamar Davis and Federal Agent Dave Norton.

P2 D- CHARACTERS- THAT DRAGON,
CANCER
• Joel Green- Son of Amy and Ryan Green, Joel was diagnosed with an atypical teratoid
rhabdoid brain tumour at 12 months old and was told he only had 6 months to live.
Instead, Joel lived for 4 years, although these four years were wracked with treatment,
hospitals and tough times. Joel died at 4 years old, and is memorialised as the main
character in this game created by his parents.
• Ryan Green- Husband of Amy Green and Father of Joel Green, Ryan created this game with
himself as a character in order to memorialise his son and help others come to terms with
and cope with the trials and tribulations with being parents or family to a terminally ill
child. Ryan is a playable character in the game and players will get to see the world
through his eyes during the 4 years of Joel’s fight with cancer.
• Amy Green- Wife of Ryan Green and Mother to Joel Green, Amy created this game with
herself as a character in order to memorialise her son and help others come to terms with
and cope with the trials and tribulations with being parents or family to a terminally ill
child. Amy is a playable character in the game and players will get to see the world through
her eyes during the 4 years of Joel’s fight with cancer.
• Supporting Characters- Supporting characters include the doctors that treated Joel, Family
and Friends of Amy and Ryan who are included by excerpts of Narration and actual
recordings taken during Joel’s life.

P2 D- CHARACTERS- WWE 2K16
• “Stone Cold” Steve Austin- Steve Austin is the main character in WWE 2K Showcase. The story follows Steve’s Hall of Fame
career, from his beginnings in ECW and WCW to his meteoric rise to stardom starting with his ”Austin 3:16” speech at King of
the Ring 1996. Players step into the “Texas Rattlesnake's” shoes through some of his most epic matches and rivalries,
culminating in his Hall of Fame induction in 2009.
• Mr McMahon- CEO of WWE, Vince McMahon was arguably Stone Cold’s greatest rival, creating some unforgettable
moments with “the rattlesnake”. Mr McMahon is essential to the story of Stone Cold and his actions and his story are shown
in WWE 2K16’s Showcase.
• Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson- in 2016, Dwayne ”The Rock” Johnson is one of the highest paid actors in the world, but in
WWE 2K16, players see where he got his start and just how he was able to be propelled into stardom, with his greatest rival
”Stone Cold” Steve Austin, both of whom made history as the first pair to headline 3 Wrestlemanias with the same
opponent, headlining Wrestlemania 15 and 17 for the WWE Championship and Wrestlemania 19 in Stone Cold’s final match.

REVELATIONS
• Desmond Miles- voiced by actor Nolan North, Desmond is the central protagonist of the Assassin’s
Creed series and is a member of the Assassin Order as he is a descendant of notable assassins such
as Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Edward Kenway and Connor/Ratonhnhaké:ton.
Desmond was shown to have taken his own life to save the planet in 2012 (the time where the
present day portion of Assassin’s Creed 3 was set)
• Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad (1165–1257) was a Syrian-born member of the Levantine Brotherhood of
Assassins and served as their Mentor from 1191 until his death in 1257. During his time as Mentor,
Altaïr made discoveries and inventions that greatly helped the Order's progression. His leadership
caused the spread of the Assassins' influence in the Old World. With the Apple in hand, Altaïr
changed the way members of his Order lived their lives, writing the details in his Codex for later
generations of the Order to read. Altaïr's vision of the Assassin Order was for them to be spread
across the world, living among the people, and he began establishing many Assassins Guilds during
his time as Mentor. Throughout his travels, Altaïr strengthened his Order, stopping various Templar
plots over the years as well as halting the march of Genghis Khan. Altaïr is an ancestor to Desmond
Miles. He is voiced by Cas Anvar.
• Ezio Auditore da Firenze- Voiced by Roger Craig Smith was a Florentine nobleman during the
Renaissance and unbeknownst to most historians and philosophers, the Mentor of the Italian
Brotherhood of Assassins, a title which he held from 1503 to 1513. He is also an ancestor to William
and Desmond Miles.

P2E- GAMEPLAY- GTA V
Grand Theft Auto is played from either a first or third person perspective with players completing
missions and objectives to complete the story. The game also places heavy emphasis on free
roaming and free play in the large open world setting and unlike the Grand Theft Auto games of the
past, the full map is accessible after the tutorial mission. The players can use hand-to-hand or
firearm based combat and the game allows running, jumping and swimming to navigate the world.
GTA V also has one of the most sophisticated Driving mechanics in any of Rockstar Games’ products
meaning that there is a heavy presence of vehicles in the game, including motorbikes, cars,
helicopters, planes and tanks. Players often take damage and when they have taken too much
damage they will respawn at hospitals based around the city. If players commit crimes they will run
afoul of law enforcement agencies with a “Wanted” system of 1-5 stars showing the extent of the
agencies’ hunt for the players (with 1 star being a simple patrol car to 5 stars being FBI and SWAT
teams). The single-player mode allows players to control the three main characters (Michael, Trevor
and Franklin) with missions being for a single character or a combination of the three (some
missions feature all three) and in between missions, players may switch between characters, each of
whom has individual benefits and abilities.

P2 E- GAMEPLAY- THAT DRAGON,
CANCER
• That Dragon, Cancer is played in both 1st and 3rd person
perspective, depending on the current section of the story.
• Players will play as Joel, Amy or Ryan.
• Players can interact with characters and objects and make
decisions throughout the game with many real and often
surreal or imagined circumstances throughout the game.
• Players will follow through the story of Joel Green, with no
real objectives, as the game is an experience based game
focused on storytelling and transporting the players into the
world of the characters.

P2 E- GAMEPLAY- WWE 2K16
• My Career- Players can create their own superstar and influence their career,
from their start in WWE Developmental show NXT, all the way to retirement
and the illustrious Hall of Fame. Players compete in matches to earn “Virtual
Currency” which allows them to buy “managers”, skills and abilities, in order
to win championships and become the best superstar.
• WWE Universe- Here, players can manage WWE programming, creating
shows, matches and putting together Pay-Per-Views (monthly WWE shows
where the best matches take place and the championships are on the line).
However, should players decide they do not want to make the matches, they
can simply play through matches created by the game itself.
• Exhibition- Players can take control of any character of their choosing and
compete in over 46 match types of their choosing, from 1-on-1, 2-on-2, Triple
Threat, Fatal 4 Way, 6-Man and Handicap matches, as well as creating their
own tournaments.

P2 E- GAMEPLAY- ASSASSIN’S CREED: REVELATIONS
• The game follows the series' standard open world gameplay in the Ezio and Altaïr Sequences, where the
game's main story takes place. New gameplay additions include the "hookblade", which can be used to
zipline across the city or grab enemies to yank them in for a combo attack. The hookblade reportedly
speeds up navigation by around 30 percent and serves as a replacement to the traditional dual Hidden
Blade. Along with the hookblade, Ezio also has around 150 different bomb variations at his disposal,
which are to be crafted. The game features new Desmond Sequences known as "Desmond's Journey",
five "Dali-esque" first-person platforming missions in a radical departure for the series. Each sequences of
"Desmond's Journey" can only be unlocked by collecting a certain amount of Data Fragments hidden
throughout Constantinople, or by purchasing The Lost Archive DLC. Data Fragments are a new type of
collectible in Revelations, replacing the Borgia Flags of previous games in the series.
• Also added and expanded are seizing districts of the city from the Templars. While capturing a district is
very similar to Brotherhood, the Templars will send reinforcements to recapture districts, which Ezio must
defend using a "tower defence" minigame, where he controls a group of Assassins from rooftops against
several waves of Templar soldiers and siege equipment. Similar to Brotherhood, initiates can be sent on
missions to other regions, eventually wresting control from the Templars, and then using the city to
produce a stream of income and new Assassin recruits. The game is playable in full 3D across three
platforms: PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360, with the console versions supporting both stereoscopic 3D
mode for 3D HDTVs and for 2D HDTVs. All Revelations gameplay and cinematics have S3D support.

P2 F- TARGET AUDIENCE- GTA V
The Grand Theft Auto games are rated M for Mature (or 18 in Europe) and are targeted
toward teenagers and young adults, with drug references, sex, extreme violence which
are aspects that should only be viewed by mature audiences. Rockstar Games cannot
target younger players for Grand Theft Auto series due to the content within and the
restrictions of PEGI. The audience is becoming increasingly female too, with Variety
reporting in 2013 that 30% of women were playing more violent games with 15% having
played Grand Theft Auto. Although, there has been increasing controversy in recent
years with the influence of Grand Theft Auto on under 18’s and many parents buying the
game for their children despite the 18 age rating. The game may also be played by very
few casual gamers and many more core gamers, with hard-core gamers being most
attracted to the detailed and varied online features, where progress and status is infinite
and can continue until the player should give up playing. The online modes may also
appeal to professional gamers, entering into competitions to be the best at heists or
online missions.

P2 F- TARGET AUDIENCE- THAT
DRAGON, CANCER
• This game is very accessible and reaches out to non-
conventional audiences, which means there is no particular
demographic that this appeals to more than another. This is
because it is a game intended for people to interact and
experience, rather than “play”.
• However, the game does lend itself to a causal gamer
audience as the basic point and click controls are easy to
grasp and make the game so that anybody can pick it up
without having to get to grips with the complexity of a 14-
button controller on the Xbox or PS4.

P2 F- TARGET AUDIENCE- WWE 2K16
• WWE 2K16’s Target Audience is very similar to WWE’s TV Products, as the game is
designed to attract all those who watch wrestling through the WWE, and according
to WWE’s corporate site, this is how consumption of the WWE Product breaks
down according to age (and as such the target audience for WWE 2K16)- 24%
under 18, 23% between 18-34, 23% between 35-49, 30% above 50.
• The Target Audience for WWE during 2016 was 63% male, however, this may have
greatly increased from the release of WWE 2K16 (at the end of 2015) to now as in
the WWE there has been an increase of focus upon women’s wrestling, possibly
attracting a new female audience that WWE’s statistics has not yet acknowledged,
who may also have been attracted to play WWE 2K16 before the release of WWE
2K17.
• This game may appeal to casual gamers who have been drawn to play because of
their love of WWE, however, the complexity of the gameplay may mean that this
game may only appeal to Core or Hardcore Gamers.
• Hardcore gamers may also be drawn by the complex and difficult online gameplay,
appealing to many hardcore gamers wishes for a challenging game.

P2 F- TARGET AUDIENCE- ASSASSIN’S CREED:
REVELATIONS
• Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is rated 18 and as such the target audience is only supposed to appeal to
people over the age of 18. However, there have been controversies in the news recently of age ratings
not restricting younger people from playing these games.
• The audience is becoming increasingly female, with Variety reporting in 2013 that 30% of women were
playing more violent games, which can constitute Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.
• The game only appeals to Hardcore or Core gamers as the complexity of the controls would not appeal
to casual gamers.
• This game is very appealing to achievers, explorers and killers, but may not appeal to socializers as the
online portion of the game does not encourage socialization.

P2 G- PLATFORM- GTA V
• Grand Theft Auto V was released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on
17th September 2013
• GTA V was given a remaster and re-release for PlayStation 4 and
Xbox One on 18th November 2014, which included new online
features, the ability to Mod (install different modes not created by
Rockstar Games) and the new capabilities to play the game from a
first person perspective.
• Grand Theft Auto was also released on 14th April 2015 on
Microsoft Windows.
• It is available to purchase both digitally and physically, through
PlayStation and Xbox/Microsoft Stores and Steam for an average
price of £34.99 with the physical copy being £38.99 on
Amazon.co.uk.

P2 G- PLATFORM- THAT DRAGON,

• That Dragon, Cancer is available on PC and Mac through
Steam for £5.49 and through That Dragon, Cancer’s official
website for £6.49 (The official website charges more as they
take more as a donation for the creation of the game and for
charities associated with the family and Joel’s condition)
• Also available on IOS in the App Store for a price of £3.99.
• This game is 100% digital as Ryan and Amy Green and the 8
person development team do not have the money nor the
technological capabilities to develop the game to be
released on a disc or to be played on consoles such as the
PS4 and Xbox One.
