The Package Travel Directive  The Package Travel Directive  The Package Travel Directive (Council Directive 90/314/EEC ) was adopted in 1990. The Directive has been an important cornerstone in the protection of European consumers going on holidays. In 2007 the Commission published a working document, Commission Working Document  , to set out the main regulatory problems in the area of package travel and to consult stakeholders on issues related to the Directive. The consultation showed a strong support for its revision.  Respondents widely endorse the Commission's description of the way the travel market has evolved since the Directive was adopted.   • 4. The Package Travel Directive  The Package Travel Directive  The Package Travel Directive (Council Directive 90/314/EEC ) was adopted in 1990. The Directive has been an important cornerstone in the protection of European consumers going on holidays. In 2007 the Commission published a working document, Commission Working Document  , to set out the main regulatory problems in the area of package travel and to consult stakeholders on issues related to the Directive. The consultation showed a strong support for its revision.  Respondents widely endorse the Commission's description of the way the travel market has evolved since the Directive was adopted.
