This document discusses performing cryoballoon ablation for atrial fibrillation (AF) in an outpatient setting. It describes a training program and protocol for performing the procedure without transoesophageal echocardiography (TEE) using a 28mm cryoballoon catheter with weight-based but not activated clotting time-adjusted heparin. Complications were managed without hospital admission. At 3-month follow up, the study showed good outcomes for performing AF cryoballoon ablation in select outpatients.
