Our
Sustainability
Journey
Cleaning for Health and Environment
• In 2010, we began our tracking our
sustainability journey with the
Sustainability Dashboard Tool,
an advanced reporting system
that increases in value over time by
allowing users to track levels of
resource consumption against
their own targets and goals.
• Environmental stewardship and
sustainable practices have clear
benefits to building occupants and
our planet. We operate our
organization in the same manner
in which we recommend to our
clients.
We lead by example.
Let us tell you
about our efforts.
Our Sustainability Dashboard
At HP Products, sustainable practices make good business sense.
We tracked our progress and can show you our savings*.
*
*In March 2013, we
brought on 20 new high
efficiency trucks. This
caused a very high truck
maintenance fee in March
and a low fee in April.
*Note: The data in this presentation reflects
the progress and savings recognized at our
headquarters in Indianapolis, IN.
Our Sustainability Efforts
We are saving money and reducing our environmental impact.
At our Indianapolis
facility, we use the
same products that we
supply our clients.
With 20,000 different
products to choose
from, 10% of which are
green, we can make
the right choices for our
facility and environment.
Revolution Bags – With 100% post-
consumer waste and a price competitive
to virgin plastic bags, this is a win-win.
Philips LED Lamps – We will be
retrofitting our facility with LED lamps
and look forward to reporting on our
electricity savings.
The Sustainability Dashboard – We
can’t manage what we don’t measure,
and the Dashboard helps us tell our
story with quantifiable results that prove
our efforts are paying off.
Some of Our Favorite Green Products
We diverted
24 TONS
of waste from entering a
landfill in 2013.
Recycling Report
Our Efforts
Our efforts
prevented a total of
65 MT*
of CO2 from entering the
earth’s atmosphere in 2013.
* MT = Metric Tons
Recycling Report
What difference does this make?
* MT = Metric Tons
Preventing 65 MT* of CO2 from entering the atmosphere =
removing 14 vehicles from the road for a year.

Electricity Report
Every day HP Products uses new technologies to reduce
electricity consumption.
This translates into a
200,000 kWh
savings per year.
Compared to our baseline year of 2010,
we saved 16% on electricity spend and
consumed 9% less electricity in 2013.
We worked hard to reduce this cost by:
• Trialing truck side skirts.
• Increasing minimum order size for a delivery.
• Delivering products 4 times a week rather than
5 times a week.
• Maintaining a comprehensive maintenance
program to ensure efficient vehicles.
Transportation Report
As a distribution company, one of HP Products’ biggest
expenses is transportation.
This translates
into a savings of
112,000 gallons
of diesel in one year.
Transportation Report
Our efforts paid off.
Compared to 2012, we saved 17%
on truck maintenance cost and
consumed 21% less diesel in 2013.
* MT = Metric Tons
Please note diesel values were estimated in April 2013 and October 2013 due to insufficient data.
*
Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Trucking Fleet (MT*)
Transportation Report
Our efforts paid off.
Not only are we saving
money, but we are
reducing our negative
environmental impacts
and our carbon footprint.
* MT = Metric Tons
Electricity and Transportation Report
What difference does this make?
With our electricity and
transportation improvements,
we are now preventing
37 MT* of CO2
from entering the atmosphere
each month, or
440 MT*
a year.
Electricity and Transportation Report
What difference does this make?
* MT = Metric Tons
To offset 440 MT* of CO2 a year, we
would have had to plant
11,000 tree seedlings
and let them grow for
10 years.
We pledge to keep improving
