The document outlines a pitch for a short film about serial killer Richard Chase. It describes the setting as a modernized 1970s-era victim's bloody kitchen where Chase is cleaning up after committing a crime. Chase and two police officers would be the main characters, with Chase appearing unkept. The opening sequence would show Chase calmly cleaning the kitchen as police sirens approach, but when they knock on the door, Chase escapes just before they enter. The audience would want to see how Chase was able to evade police for so long and uncover his backstory and previous murders.
The document proposes an opening sequence for a film about serial killer Richard Chase. It would show Chase cleaning up a bloody kitchen after committing a crime, while police are on their way to arrest him. There would be no dialogue from Chase, just music from an old radio. When the police arrive and knock on the door, Chase escapes just before they enter. The audience would want to see how Chase reached this point and watch the police try to track him down, though he is sneaky and difficult to catch due to the 1970s setting with no modern technology.
The document outlines the opening sequence of a horror film. The sequence will take place in 2000s and show teenage girls playing a game called "Midnight Man" at a sleepover. During the game, strange events will occur that hint at a supernatural presence. The rest of the film will follow the lives of the girls as the game comes back to haunt them, bringing them together to defeat the Midnight Man.
The opening sequence of the film will show the last few minutes of serial killer Richard Chase's life before being arrested by police in 1977. It will crosscut between Chase tidying up his dirty kitchen - putting away bloodstained cutlery and jars of organs - and the police car arriving with lights and sirens. The film will explore Chase's difficult childhood and mental illness that led him to become a serial killer, portraying his time in institutions and murders.
conjuring 3 opening scene analysis.pptxPhoebeLittle2
The opening sequence of The Conjuring 3 establishes the setting and introduces the main characters. Various shots are used to build tension, including low-key lighting, shallow focus, and handheld camerawork. This builds sympathy for the young boy David who is seen distressed and covered in blood during an exorcism. The sequence also introduces paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren who note this case is unlike anything they've seen before.
The opening sequence of a sci-fi/horror film is analyzed. It depicts a dead man and his newly cloned replacement. Low-key lighting and intimate shots build mystery and suspense around the clone's intentions as he wears a hood and mask. The sequence ends on a cliffhanger by showing ominous props, leaving viewers wanting to learn why the clone replaced the man and what may happen next.
The document provides details on costumes and props needed for an opening sequence depicting a serial killer. It lists that the serial killer character, Richard Chase, will wear old, worn clothes sourced from charity shops. Two police officers will wear suits with badges, which may be supplied by Elizabeth or purchased elsewhere. The victim, played by Elizabeth, will wear a mid-length dress, tights and heels to be soaked in fake blood. Props include blood-stained cutlery, jars to hold fake organs sourced from empty food containers and online, pig organs obtained from local butchers, fake blood ordered in bulk online, an old style radio from the writer's dad, an old style clock from Amazon, and blue flashing
The document analyzes how the opening sequence of the film "The Chase" aligns with and departs from conventions of the horror-thriller genre. It finds that aspects of the sequence's mis-en-scene, characters, narrative, and camera work are conventional, using props, colors, sounds, and shots typical of the genre. However, it also features some unconventional elements, like the use of jazz music instead of typical horror scores, and withholding the killer's full identity from viewers through limited shots. Overall, the sequence effectively engages viewers through both conventional genre setup and unique stylistic choices.
Meghan Trainor's "No" music video begins with her strutting down a corridor in high heels, suggesting attitude and empowerment. She is then joined by other women dressed in military-style clothing, depicting a sense of female rebellion. Scenes show the women dancing aggressively together in synchronized, militant formations with clenched fists. Imagery of a silhouetted woman against a red background represents the anger they feel from objectification. The video aims to subvert male gazes and cliches of female sexuality by presenting the women as in control and "untouchable" through their bold movements and lack of male presence. Flares at the end reinforce the video's themes of combat and defiance through their connotations of war
Don’t Stop Now’- Dua Lipa video analysis.pptxPhoebeLittle2
1) The music video opens with a handheld shot of Dua Lipa at a party, showing her in control and confident as the life of the party.
2) Scenes show Dua Lipa throwing a surprise performance at a local bar and walking confidently through a crowd, standing out from others.
3) Towards the end, the video depicts Dua Lipa becoming more chaotic and out of control, juxtaposing her earlier luxury and confidence, as she angrily shouts not to "show up".
The document provides clothing, makeup, and video editing ideas for a music video promoting a party atmosphere. It recommends bright colors, satin materials, and 90s/2000s suits to portray a celebrity partying. Video editing ideas include variable speeds, transitions of sets by swiping or walking away from the camera. - Phoebe felt her strengths were costume/makeup preparation and giving the singer direction. Weaknesses included some unplanned costume issues.

meeting with lighting designer ppt.pptxPhoebeLittle2
The lighting designer discussed lighting plans for 6 sets in an upcoming production. For set 1, they will use a water projection effect with smoke and blue gel. Set 2 requires minimal lighting to let the Rothko paintings have their intended effect, using a sunset lamp color and orange gel. Set 3 uses flats from previous music videos to form a maze, with gaps allowing light to beam through and give the illusion of a larger maze.
The document outlines lighting plans for 6 sets in a production. Set 1 calls for a water projection effect with smoke and blue gel. Set 2 requires minimal lighting to let Rothko paintings speak for themselves, using a non-circular sunset lamp color and orange gel. Set 3 proposes using flats from past music videos with light beaming through gaps to give a maze effect.

1. OUR SIX SETS (updated)
Kitt, Sophie, Julia, Phoebe
2. 1) DRY FOR WET SET UP
• Dry for wet, using water core sticks.
• Slow motion editing.
• Bubbles edited in, artist is under water.
• Fans on the singer, making her dress and hair go
crazy.
Image created

Canva of our
idea.
3. 2) ROTHKO SET UP
• The background consists of 3 paintings, which
echo the style of Rothko and his work.
• We will make use of lighting to cheat the
paintings, making them stand out, even in the
background.
• They will sometimes go out of focus whilst the
camera looks at the singer, lip syncing.
• Possibly will have dancers in front of them,
dressed in black?

4. 3) MAZE CONCEPT SET UP
• We wanted to have our singer in a maze, but it proved to be
difficult as shooting the whole of a maze is quite difficult (birds eye
can’t be done).
• Instead, we are going to create a corridor out of theatre flats,
decorated with random colours/ patterns (which we change the
order of each time we shoot to disorientate the viewer).
• We will make it with 7 flats, to create an L shape.
• A non-lipsyncing set up.
5. 4) RAPPER AND SINGER MEETING IN CORNER
OF MAZE
• Lip syncing set up.
• The singer will eventually meet
the rapper in this set.
• Similar to set up 3, but instead
filmed in a corner made up by
theatre flats.
6. 5) INFINITY ROLL WITH DOODLES
• An infinity roll, covered in
doodles and sketches partially.
• Singer will be shown doodling
and sketching lying down, using
low down shots, on the infinity
roll.
• Wearing a bright colour to
stand out.
Created on Canva!
7. 6) SURRALIST IMAGES SET UP
• Going to cut in between the
main sets with shots of the
singer doing abstract, strange
shots.
• Animal heads, looking through
wine glasses etc.
• Easy to shoot outside of music
video filming hours.
