Recently, we have had
recycling bins (made out of
recycled cardboard) put in
every classroom and office!
To help improve our
school’s carbon footprint,
we have signs to remind
children and adults to turn
off any lights or electrical
equipment.

10. We also have a vegetable
patch that we plant every
year in spring. We have a
Green group run by Mrs
Bennett, one of our
teachers.
In addition to this, we
have Outdoor Education
where we spend time
outside in the trails and
by the stream. We enjoy
spending time in our
school grounds.

16. Queen Elizabeth II was born
Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary
on April 21, 1926, in London, to
Prince Albert, Duke of York (later
King George VI), and Elizabeth
Bowes-Lyon..
She married Philip Mountbatten,
Duke of Edinburgh in 1947,
became queen on February 6,
1952, and was crowned on June 2,
1953. During her reign, she has
tried to make the British
monarchy more modern and
sensitive to the public.

Landywood is in the county ‘Staffordshire’
which is in the Midlands. There are lots of
places to visit and enjoy.
Cannock chase forest
The Chase Heritage Trail is a linear trail that links
Birches Valley to the towns of Rugeley, Hednesford
and Cannock, exploring the Chase’s history along the
way.
Opened in 2008 by the Princess Royal and funded by
the Lottery Heritage fund and the Staffordshire
Environmental fund, the Chase Heritage Trail runs
from Cannock to Rugeley passing through Cannock
Forest as well as other local beauty spots, passing
close to historic sites that may have previously been
difficult to access. The Trail is 10 miles in total,
Birches Valley Forest Centre to Cannock Chase Visitor
Centre is 1.6 miles, return journey being 3.2 miles
