Location of the National Park The park is located in the Bavarian Forest in 1200 meters altitude. The area is about 2400 ha. 1200 people are working  in the national park.

Development of the National Park The park was founded by Mr.  Eisemann in 1969.  It was founded in order to keep the infrastructure.
The National Park The seize of the National Park is about 24.500 ha It is visited by 2 million tourists a year.
The influences of the National Park The influences on the environment of the National Park has been very positive. It is very good for the infrastructure and jobs. The impact on tourism is also very positive.
The jobs in the National Park There are 1200 jobs. There are, for example, trained biologists and animal rangers. The apprenticeship for animal rangers lasts for 3 years. The biologists have to study.
The bark beetle Up to 15 months old. Flies from a temperature of 15°C. The largest is the Buchdrucker.

Why there are stones on the top of the Lusen? 1.  There are stones on the mountain because the Lusen was a complete  stonerock in former times. 2 . By the time the humus layer  was removed from the mountain top.  3.   The stones had broken into pieces.
What kind of trees are there on the top of the Lusen? The most frequent trees are spruces, beeches, oaks and jaws.  Nearly all spruces were destroyed by the bark beetle.
Why do the trees on the Lusen die? 1. Bark beetle  2. Sour rain 3. Dryness (2005) 4. Human influences 5. Browsing Trees can protect themselves, however, by a mushroom that grows on the trees. The mushroom cleans the wood.

What story is there about the Lusen? A history mentioned that the devil wanted to build a house on the top of the Lusen. He put stones in the barrow and climbed up the Lusen.  When the midday bell rang in the valley, the devil was so frightened that the whole stones fell on the mountain in such a way like it is today. The devil was so frightened that he never returns.
