• Is Organisational Behaviour Management?
o No. It is a narrower interpretation of providing a behavioural approach to management.
• Study of Organisational Behaviour focuses on
o Behavior of people
o Process of management
o Organisational context in which the process of management take place
o Organisational process and the execution of work
o Interactions with the external environment
There are different actors who influence the behavior of the organisation
o Individual – Managing the expectations of the employee and the employer
o Group – Influence directly on the organisation and Influence on the individual and thus
the organisation
o Organisation – Organisational structure, style of management, systems through which
organizational processes are planned and controlled
o Environment – External environmental factors (Political, Economical, Social,
Technological, Ethical, Legal)
There are key four main approaches which the researchers have taken in understanding Organisational
Behavior. They are

• Social Approach
• Anthropological Approach
• Economics Approach
