3. INTRODUCTION
Different types of relations are found among
organisms of various types. These relationships are
useful for ensuring food and space for living. On the
basis of the benefits and harmful effects of
organisms, these relations can be categorized into
two, namely, positive interaction and negative
interaction.
4. POSITIVE INTERACTION
MUTUALISM – Two organisms are benefited
Eg : Butterfly and Flowering plants
5. POSITIVE INTERACTION
COMMENSALISM – One is benefited and
the other is neither benefited nor harmed
Eg : Vanda and Mango tree
6. NEGATIVE INTERACTION
PREDATION – One is benefited and the other is harmed
Eg; Eagle and Chicken
7. NEGATIVE INTERACTION
PARASITISM – One is benefited and the other is harmed
Eg; Mango tree and Loranthus
8. NEGATIVE INTERACTION
COMPETITION – Both organisms suffer at first. But the
organism which wins is benefited.
