The amendments to UTCR 5.100 aim to address issues judges have encountered when signing proposed orders and judgments in the new eCourt system. The rule will be broken into three parts covering service, objections, and submission. For service, opposing parties will have more opportunity to object to proposed orders or judgments. A new objection component establishes a seven day period for written objections and requires parties to try resolving disputes before submission. The submission component retains certificate requirements and adds one for readiness to help judges ensure orders are signed appropriately. Public comments will be accepted through August 17th on the proposed changes.
