If you are given the chance to

Lets divide the class into 3 groups.
Select your representative to pick word strip
containing short speech.
The paper strips contain gender issues and topics.
Select a representative to deliver what is written.
You can also express your ideas regarding your topic.
You will select a representative to deliver the speech.
The group members also given opportunity to share
ideas about your topic.

representative to pick the topic.
You have to express your ideas on the
following topics and select representative
from your group to deliver your speech in
different manner.
In the first activity, what type of speech according
to purpose do they deliver? Why?
In the second activity, what have you observed on
how they delivered the speech?
Do you think that gender issues can affect our
society? Why?
What are the advantages and disadvantages of
types of speech delivery?
Types of Speech According to Purpose
1. Informative Speech
- It is where a speaker gives
factual information by giving definition,
description or explanation on a certain
topic. Classroom discussion, seminars
and training can be considered as an
informative speech.
Types of Speech According to Purpose
2. Entertainment Speech
-The mere purpose of this speech
is to give pleasure and amusement to the
audience through comic or humorous
experiences. Telling jokes and narrating
funny or scary experiences can be used in
this speech.

3. Persuasive Speech
- It aims to convince or influence
the audience to change the perspective and
look at things the way the speaker presents the
idea or concept. Public forum debate and Sales
presentation are a few of its examples.
Types of Speech According to Delivery
1.Manuscript speech
- is the word-for-word iteration of a written
message using visual aids.
- example: news anchor with a teleprompter
2.Memorized speech
- is the rote recitation of a written message that
the speaker has committed to memory.
- example: actor’s dialogue
Types of Speech According to Delivery
1. Extemporaneous speech
- is the presentation of a carefully planned and rehearsed
speech, spoken in a conversational manner using brief notes.
- example: a campaign speech before a voting public
1. Impromptu speech
- is the presentation of a short message without advance
preparation and is for people knowledgeable about the
subject.
- example: a doctor’s response to the question of a patient.
Among the 4 types of speech delivery, which do
you think you prefer most? Why?
If you given a chance to speak, what are you going
to tell those people who experienced gender
discrimination?
Do you think that individual has the right to voice
out and express oneself in order to eradicate
gender discrimination?
