OpenSpecimen is used across multiple disease groups at the Siteman Cancer Center as the primary biospecimen management database. It has over 1000 studies, 100 sites, 80 active users, and over 2 million specimens stored. OpenSpecimen integrates with other systems like REDCap to automate data entry and improve reporting. It also integrates with BioMS to sync clinical trial data from over 3000 collection sites for the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology network. OpenSpecimen provides a configurable, robust platform for biorepository management with ongoing support and improvements.
