They followed local businesses and groups on Twitter to solidify their place in the community and promote other local events. The results showed they need to work on building more interest and educating staff. Moving forward, they plan to focus their social media strategies on specific shows, set more realistic goals, and designate a staff member to lead communications efforts.

Prof. Flavia Marzano discusses opportunities for digital and open transformation following the coronavirus pandemic. She argues that digital transformation should involve redefining processes rather than just adapting technologies. Public administrations should focus on open data, open source, simplifying regulations and services, and digital inclusiveness. The current situation presents an opportunity to move from "digital first" to "digital only" and implement long-needed changes to vision and planning. Common mistakes to avoid include the "not invented here" syndrome and working in silos. Digital transformation must consider users and involve co-design, and should promote diversity, accessibility, and human rights.

It argues that the crisis provides an opportunity to accelerate digital transformation efforts in both the public and private sectors. Specifically, governments should focus on digitalization, open data, simplifying regulations, inclusion, open government, and improving connectivity infrastructure. The document also outlines common mistakes to avoid, such as working in silos, not involving users, and having too many laws. Overall, it advocates for a vision of greater digital access, participation, and openness going forward.

Innovation: new visions not just new technologiesFlavia Marzano
Flavia Marzano gave a presentation on innovation. She argued that innovation requires more than just new technologies - it requires new visions and ways of thinking. True innovation involves behavioral and social transformation brought about by understanding new dynamics and redesigning services with awareness of new questions and answers. Marzano emphasized concepts like openness, networking, intuition, and understanding the user's perspective to drive innovation.
The document discusses the role and opportunities of free and open source software (FOSS) in public administrations. It notes that public administrations must ensure legal, technical, and economic constraints are met when purchasing software, while also serving the public interest. FOSS can help public administrations reduce costs while ensuring transparency, interoperability, and independence from suppliers. The document advocates for policies that promote FOSS adoption, including requiring its use and sharing software developed for public administrations.
