Open Education Resources (OERs) provide several benefits but also some challenges. Some key benefits of OERs include allowing continuous updates to provide students with the most current information, saving students money by being free to use, and allowing instructors to focus more on teaching rather than developing course materials. However, challenges of OERs include verifying the quality of resources, finding relevant resources amid many options, and the time needed to select resources, understand how to use or create OERs, and keep self-created content up to date.
