INTRODUCTION
• The Omicron variant (B.1.1.529 is a variant of SARS COV 2
that virus cause COVID-19.
• This first identified in South Africa on 24 November 21.
• It spreaded in Israel, Botswana,Hong Kong ,India and etc….
BASIC STRUCTURE OF CORONAVIRUS
NOMENCLATURE OF OMICRONVARIANT
• On 26 November 21WHOTAGVE Lineage B.1.1.529 variant and design Named after
OMICRON from Greek alphabet byWHO.
MUTATIONS CARRIED OMICRONVARIANT
• There are 50 mutations Carried in omicron varient compard to First
isolated corona virus.
• 32 mutations occurs only spike protein.
• Include 30 AA changes ,3 small deletion and one insertion In spike protein.
• 15 mutations located in RBD receptor.
• The varient has three mutations in furin cleavage site due to easy bind to
host Ace 2 receptor and infected.
DEFINING MUTATIONS
WHERETHEY MUTATIONS OCCURS IN OMICRON
VARIANT
SYMPTOMS:(SCIENTISTS SAID: NO RESERCHABLE)
• No unusual symptoms compared than Other variant.
• Angelique coetzee said
1. Asymptomatic in more infected people’s.
2. Fatigue
3. Aches
4. Pain
But no cough ,No changes in sence of smell and taste.
FregusWalsh:
Very mild symptoms andNo increase hospital admission.
PREVENTION
1. Physical distance
2. Clean hand
3. Get vaccinated
RISK FACTORS (SCIENTISTS SAID)
1. Patient had chronic disorders ,infections,
2. Immuno supressive person
3. HIV / AIDS
TREATMENT
• Steroid drugs
• Take rest and drink a lot of fluids to maintain adequate
hydration.
DIAGNOSIS FOR OMICRONVARIANT
• PCR test(RT PCR)
• Rapid Antigen test
FEATURES FOR OMICRONVARIANT
• Transmissibility
• Re infection
HOW TO PARTICULARLY OMICRONVARIANT IS
DETECTED
• Based to see mutations in
Spike protein, Nucleocapsids
and envelope protein in
Virus
