Drunk driving is responsible for about 13,000 deaths in the US each year, though this number was higher at around 25,000 deaths 20 years ago. In Rhode Island, there were 2,131 arrests for drunk driving and 29 total deaths caused by drivers with a BAC of at least 0.01%. The penalties for drunk driving and vehicular homicide can include jail time, fines, license suspension, and in some cases of vehicular homicide resulting in death, life imprisonment. Various organizations work to prevent drunk driving and educate the public, such as MADD and SADD.
The Marine Innovation Service (MIS) provides technical support and access to facilities and expertise for the marine industry in areas like marine technology, materials processing, design and prototyping. MIS helps businesses through bespoke projects to develop new products, tackle challenges, open opportunities, and enhance systems to improve business performance. Case studies show how MIS has helped companies with projects like designing a dinghy using composite materials, resin infusing a crab boat hull, and assisting with a large scale resin infusion of a multihull. MIS is funded by the European Regional Development Fund to provide 100% funded support to eligible businesses in Cornwall through to June 2015.

This document outlines a plan to address the growing skills shortage in the UK composites industry. It summarizes research showing demand for composites skilled workers will need to double by 2015. The plan aims to equip young people, upskill existing workers, and provide additional training. Standardized modular courses will be developed across multiple skill levels, delivered by approved training providers. Course content includes awareness, practical skills, and composites theory topics. The plan aims to meet industry needs through a coordinated, scalable training structure.
Falmouth Marine School is exploring changing from hand layup composite processing to closed mold processes like resin infusion to improve quality, repeatability, and the working environment. A study showed resin infusion could reduce structural weight by 56% over hand layup with lower labor costs despite higher material costs. Resin film infusion achieved even lower weights but was not as cost effective. Adopting closed mold processes requires investment and staff training but offers performance benefits, especially for larger boatbuilding companies. Incremental introduction allows time to master the new techniques.
The document introduces Concerto Consulting, an innovation management firm. It defines innovation broadly as the successful implementation of new products, services, or processes to increase customer value. Concerto assists clients in innovating through a comprehensive framework that addresses what to innovate, how to run the innovation process, and how to build an innovation culture. The firm's experienced team and cross-cultural expertise help multinational clients achieve concrete business results and commitment to innovation.
The document discusses defensive driving. It states that defensive driving means recognizing potential hazards, predicting the actions of other road users, and acting before they do to avoid conflicts. The key to defensive driving is defensive reasoning, which involves anticipating dangerous situations and having an escape plan. The document provides an example of a crash scenario and diagrams it. It then lists the defensive habits drivers A and B should have practiced to prevent the crash, such as scanning for hazards, tagging other vehicles, covering the brake to slow down, and waiting for clearances before passing parked vehicles. The overall message is that defensive driving requires anticipating risks and having a plan to avoid conflicts through defensive reasoning.

sine lokale saker over hele landet
Har etablert bl.a. Regnskogfondet og Grønn hverdag
Naturvernforbundet er norsk medlem av Friends of the
Earth International
Støtter partnere i 20 land, tidligere Sovjet og Afrika
4. Styrende organer
Landsstyret
5. Naturvernforbundets historie
Norge første miljøorganisasjon, stiftet i 1914 under navnet
Landsforeningen for naturfredning i Norge
1936 byttet navn til Landsforbundet for naturfredning i Norge.
1962 byttet navn til Norges Naturvernforbund.
1963 Naturvernforbundets første landsmøte ble holdt
Magne Midttun ble ansatt som første generalsekretær.
6. Naturvernforbundets historie – forts.
vassdragsutbygging.
Kampen for å redde Mardalsfossen i 1970 startet en ny epoke i
norsk naturvern.
naturvernaksjonene i norsk historie - Alta-saken.
8. Forbruket vårt påvirker naturen
• Alt vi forbruker krever energi
• Produksjon av energi (fossil, vann, bio…)
• Transport av energi (kabler, master, vei)
• Energi til transport (klima, areal)
• Energi til oppvarming, lys, produksjon
9. Samlet belastning
- Forskning viser store forandringer.
- Artstapet går 100-1000 ganger naturens gang
- Globale klimaforandringer
- Overbeskatning
- Forurensing/miljøgifter
- Arealforbruk
- Fremmede arter
- Økosystemforandringer
- Artstap
13. Energiforbruket vårt må ned!
For å hindre farlige klimaendringer og bevare
livsgrunnlaget naturen gir oss:
• Må vi redusere klimagassutslipp med 30%
innen 2020 og 90% innen 2050
• Da må vi finne alternative energikilder
14. Miljøutfordringene er globale
• Derfor jobber Naturvernforbundet internasjonalt
• Vi jobber med de internasjonale klimaforhandlingene
• Vi har prosjekter i mer enn 20 land
15. Vi jobber over hele landet
for sitt område
• Bredt spekter:
miljøgifter, vern, skog, klimaendringer og
transport
