I. Background of the Company / Company Profile
Objective
The main objective of the National Bureau of Investigation is
the establishment and maintenance of a modern, effective and
efficient investigative service and research agency for the
purpose of implementing fully principal functions provided
under Republic Act No. 157, as amended.
VISION
A world¬
class investigative institution ¬ dynamic, respected
and committed to the high ideals of law and order.
MISSION
A world¬
class investigative institution ¬ dynamic, respected
and committed to the high ideals of law and order.
HISTORY
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) saw its
inception on November 13, 1936 upon approval of
Commonwealth Act No. 181 by the legislature. It was the
brainchild of the late President Manuel L. Quezon and Jose
Yulo, then Secretary of Justice. Tasked with organizing a
Division of Investigation or DI patterned after the United
States Federal Bureau of Investigation were Thomas Dugan, a
veteran American police captain from the New York Police
Department and Flaviano C. Guerrero, the only Filipino
member of the United States Federal Bureau of
Investigation. On the basis of stiff physical, mental, and
moral standards, 45 men were selected as agents from among
300 applicants. To complement this investigative force was
a civilian staff composed of doctors, chemists, fingerprint
technicians, photographers, stenographers, and clerks.
During the Japanese occupation, the DI was affiliated with
the Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Philippine
Constabulary known as the Bureau of Investigation (BI).
Subsequently, during the post liberation period, all
available DI agents were recruited by the US Army CIC as
investigators. Since then, the Bureau assumed an
increasingly significant role. Thus, on June 19, 1947, by
virtue of Republic Act No. 157, it was reorganized into the
Bureau of Investigation. Later, it was amended by Executive
Order No. 94 issued on October 4, 1947 renaming it to what
it is presently known, the National Bureau of Investigation
(NBI).

III. Technical and Soft Skills Learned
During the duration of our internship at NBI-CAR we have
learned skills and a lot of experience that we can use on our
future works/endeavors. The skills I learned includes improving
my work ethics, attitude, communication skills, time management
and self-confidence.
I We have also learned on how to enter NBI data clearances,
its procedure and the documents needed in applying for NBI
CLEARANCE both in walk-in applicants and online applicants. After
entering the data for NBI CLEARANCE, we are task to do the
biometrics such as image capture, getting of
fingerprint/biometrics and lastly the releasing of NBI CLEARANCE
if the result is “no hit” the applicant are able to acquire their
NBI CLEARANCE just after the biometrics, but if the result would
be “with hit” they are unable to acquire their clearance for 3-4
days and we are required to do the record checking to their
names.
IV. Recommendations for further improvement of the Company’s
Internship Program.(if any)
The company should create a program where their interns can
follow. As far as we experienced there are no programs for
interns but the supervisor will give just give task to interns
whenever they are needed.
V. Advise to future interns
To future interns;
1. Start with relentless punctuality. Show up on time (or
early) in the morning or in the required time or schedule
given by the company, and complete tasks by their
deadlines.
2. Complete each task with excellence.
3. Take on more work — without being asked. Even if you’re
not being observed by your supervisors work diligently.
4. Build professional relationships. Always remember to be
professional to your supervisor and colleauges.
