Openness is a tool that can enable scalable and sustainable solutions for education through open educational resources, MOOCs, and textbooks. Three examples are provided: 1) Lumen Learning, an open textbook publisher; 2) a digital ecosystem for collaborative and open textbook production in Latin America; and 3) using accredited MOOCs to train 30,000 Ecuadorian teachers in 5 years due to their ability to scale. In conclusion, openness provides advantages over traditional models and should be used to enable innovative solutions for education if trust in open approaches can be gained through success stories.

Online Intercultural Exchange: capacity building for a flexible, effective wo...University of Warwick
This document discusses online intercultural exchange (OIE) and its potential benefits for developing skills needed in a global workforce. It highlights a large-scale virtual exchange project between Warwick University and a university in France, as well as its expansion to include other institutions. OIE helps students gain intercultural competencies and allows educational connections to continue beyond individual courses by facilitating professional networks. The document also examines opportunities for enhancing OIE, such as through using voice and video tools, open badges for credentials, and shared glossaries. Challenges include streamlining communication platforms, aggregating discussions across different online spaces, and addressing institutional policies that may hinder collaboration.
The 4th EFQUEL Innovation Forum will take place in Lisbon, Portugal in September 2010, hosted by the Catholic University of Portugal and the National Institute for Public Administration of Portugal. The annual conference will bring together eLearning professionals to discuss how open education can promote social inclusion and economic benefits by providing important skills to citizens. Workshop 3 will focus on how educational games and digital resources can be integrated into primary and secondary curricula to improve school success. The workshop aims to provide teachers with skills for selecting and using open educational resources and game-based learning to engage students in rich learning experiences.
This document discusses 10 years of open educational resources (OER) and recurrent issues and innovative practices. It summarizes several OER initiatives in Brazil from 2007-2012, focusing on using OER as a strategy to achieve national education priorities. It presents recommendations for OER development at six levels: quality control, policy, copyright, higher education sector, pedagogy and technology. It also discusses the OportUnidad project which aims to develop a common higher education area between Latin America and Europe while fostering open educational practices through a bottom-up approach from 2012-2014.

This document summarizes the results of a Delphi study conducted with 12 experts on open educational resources (OER) in German-speaking countries. The study identified several challenges to adopting OER, including a lack of awareness, low availability of OER materials, and uncertainty around copyright issues. However, the experts also saw potential benefits to OER in supporting active learning and preventing a "digital divide." While adoption of OER is not widespread currently, the experts felt progress was being made through ongoing definition and discussion of OER, and that the future of OER remains unforeseeable but could be positively influenced by institutional commitments to OER.

The study aims to identify current uses of blockchain in education, explore case studies, and propose recommendations to support open education in EU member states. Main conclusions are that blockchain applications are still emerging but have potential to disrupt student information systems. The benefits are better achieved through open implementations utilizing open standards and self-sovereign data management. The report recommends further development be a shared competence of the public and private sectors.

This chapter presents intermediate results from the OpenEdu study, carried out by DG JRC IPTS on behalf of DG EAC. It argues that open education goes beyond MOOCs and OER. It demonstrates this by proposing dimensions that are key for an understanding of open education and for the further development of open education by HE institutions in Europe. In addition, results from three of the main studies of OpenEdu are taken to discuss the motivations and barriers for opening up education by HE institutions (OpenCases), the uptake of open education in five European countries (OpenSurvey) and recognition and assessment practices in MOOCs (OpenCred).

This report analyzes practices for assessing and recognizing learning from Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in Europe. It provides examples of how some higher education institutions and employers recognize or do not recognize non-formal learning from MOOCs. The report introduces an "open learning recognition traffic light model" to guide recognition decisions. It finds recognition of MOOC learning is still emerging but identifies factors that support recognition, such as robust assessment and formal credentials. The report concludes with recommendations to strengthen recognition of open and online learning in Europe.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.

How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.
