Rachel Kasliner completed her service-learning hours at Longwood Elementary School where she observed a 4th grade classroom that included students with various disabilities including deaf/hard of hearing students, students with learning disabilities, and students with speech/language disorders. She taught Junior Achievement lessons to the class and provided one-on-one support to a student with a learning disability. Kasliner was initially nervous about working with deaf/hard of hearing students but found that the classroom had full-time interpreter services and assistive technology to support the students' needs. The experience reinforced her understanding of accommodations and classroom setup from her coursework and motivated her to continue engaging in service-learning opportunities.

The church will be open on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 6:30pm for those who want to attend services during the week. Visitors can come directly from work without needing to change clothes. Attendees will have opportunities for quiet reflection as well as a brief sermon.
