Q: What made you want to
become a teacher?
A: When I was a full time
substitute in 8th
grade Earth
science.
Q: What is your favorite part
about being a teacher?
A:Being around the students.
Q: If you could have any other
job what would it be?
A: Pro golfer.
Q: What is something random
about yourself?
A: I don't eat liver.
Q: What is some advice you
would give to students?
A: Never give up. The only limit
you have is yourself. You can
reach your dream if YOU work
hard and don't let others stop you
from dreaming.
It is amusing and unpretentious how
14 years of football history can
crumble in a single night. Consider
November 5th
, 2010 that night for the
Arp Tigers, as they saw a 14 year
winning streak against the West Rusk
Raiders slip away from them in a 27-7
emotional defeat. West Rusk (10-0,
5-0) came into the game more
electrified to play football it seemed
than they had been the entire season.
This excitement; however, was quickly
reduced to stillness as the Raiders
fumbled on their opening possession
of the game, allowing the Tigers (4-6,
3-2) to recover and march down the
field for an Arp Tiger touchdown,
which was capped off by a 23 yard run
by junior tailback Kasey McClendon.
In the first half of play, the Tigers
unloaded on the Raiders, using every
weapon in their arsenal to trick, dupe,
baffle, and bewilder the Raider
defense. The Tiger dominance would
end quickly before the end of the first
half as the Raiders scored another
touchdown which was almost picked
off. The Raiders attempted to convert
for 2 points twice in the first half, failing
on both tries to make the score 12-7 at
halftime. As for the second half of
play? It was all Raiders from there.
West Rusk scored easily and seemed
to have no more troubles from the
Tigers, ending the game with a 27-7
win.
Dear Dr. Love,
I've been invited to spend
Thanksgiving with my girlfriend's family.
What are your best tips for making a
good impression?
Signed,
Etiquette School Dropout
Dear Etiquette School Dropout,
First, shame on you for dropping out of
Etiquette School. I graduated at the top
of my class – Miss Gwen's Charm
School and Donut Shop. Here are a few
of my best suggestions.
1.Arrive bringing a gift. The $0.99 store
has a great selection of after dinner
drinks such as Bubble Gum Caprie Sun,
Cactus flavored Iced Tea, and my
favorite Blue Raspberry/ Ravoli flavored
Lemonade. And all are only $0.99! What
a deal!
2. Dress nicely. Jammie pants & an
armless sweat shirt are acceptable as
long as they are clean and ironed. You
don't want dinner guests thinking you are
a slob. Your clothes should leave a
lasting impression as I'm sure you will,
too.
3. Select nice table conversation. It is
appropriate to talk about your cousin's
adventures at wild-hog trapping, but
remember to watch the cuss words,
dangling participles, and misplaced
modifiers. You want guests to think you
are refined and cultured.
4. Lastly, compliment those who cooked
the meal. Burp once if you
enjoyed and two or more times
if you really enjoyed! Getting
carried away and burping
the entire alphabet should be
saved for a more formal dinner
such as a tailgate party at the
next Nascar race. Now, that's
really fancy!
