Your Wellness Connection is focusing on digestive health this month. We’ve planned
all kinds of treats… You can learn about the effect of wheat in your diet, have fun
growing nutrients for your food and communication skills to help relieve your stress!
Tuesday, October 7th - Dr. William Davis, author of “Wheat Belly” will be at Unity
Temple with Rainy Day Books at 7:00 pm This is an open house event you don’t
want to miss!
Wednesday, October 8th - Grow Your Own Sprouts with Tamara Creighton from
6:15-7:15pm. Sprouts contain vitamins A, B-complex, C and E in concentrated
values, it’s an easy way to bump up the nutritional value of your meals – and it’s fun
for the entire family. Just $20/pp
Tuesday, October 14th - “How to Speak & Listen with Clarity, Confidence and
Compassion” with MK Mueller from 6:00-7:30pm. The rules for effective
communication aren’t hard to understand, they’re just hard to remember! Learn
how to ask for what you want and get it, how to set boundaries, deal with
confrontation and how to say no. Dinner and her book are included! Just $30/pp
Saturday, October 18th - Introduction to Daring Way™ with Crystal Jenkins from
9:00 – 5:00pm. This is a highly experiential methodology to help men, women, and
adolescents learn how to show up, be seen, and live braver lives. The primary focus
is on embracing vulnerability, developing shame resilence and practicing courage
in the way we live, lead, love, and parent. Registration for this workshop is limited
to 15 participants. Dealine for registration will be October 15th, 2014. Just $75/pp
Monday, October 27th - Join the Men’s Club from 7:30-8:30 for some grilling &
tailgating tips with a surprise guest!

Healthy Halloween Treat – German Chocolate Fudge Bites
- ¾ cup pitted dates
- ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/16 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 Tbsp shredded coconut
- 1/3 to ½ cup raw pecans
- optional – add a few chocolate chips
Blend all ingredients together very well (I recommend using a food
processor.) Squish the dough together (use a plastic bag to avoid getting
messy). Roll into balls, cookie-cutter shapes, or bars… or you can use it for
pie crust!
Only 50 calories, 2.5g Fat, 8g carbohydrates, 1.5g fiber, 6g protein, 0g added sugar!
