Jeff Brunner from WiLS gave an update on OCLC services. He recommended continuing to use BRI for loans and mentioned a new British Library purchase service that can be accessed through an ILLiad addon. WorldShare ILL will soon support book club workflows and changes are coming to how in-process funds are handled in IFM. Testing of the IFM changes will take place over the summer.

- Days to Respond uses calendar days, not 24-hour periods. Selecting "1 day" means you will have until midnight Eastern time (US) to respond, on the same day the request is routed to you, whether it arrives in your Can You Supply queue at 8 am or 10 pm. If you do not respond by midnight, the request will advance to the next lender.

- After searching WorldCat, users will navigate to the holdings display page. To the right of the Lender String details is a box for Quantity. This will default to ONE, but once a user enters a different number the lender string box will expand as shown here. Several lender strings will be available and that subset will be scrollable. If a user filters the holdings display by a Custom Holdings Path to view only their favorite lenders, their lender string will be automatically populated with their favorite lenders. Users then click the Create Request button
- Once users click on Create Request from the holdings page, they create the main record for their book club ‘order.’ This request will act as the ‘parent” record for all of the book club items requested by this title. Users will be able to edit their lender strings [note: this is a mock-up, each lender string will be DIFFERENT] and create their requests They will then be able to navigate to their group of requests and add in individual patron information if they wish, or they can apply settings to this group of requests and submit them all in one fell swoop.
- Once the requests have been created, they will be accessible in the standard request queues (e.g. In-Transit) or all viewed in one location, providing a snapshot of ordered materials Note: in the screen shot column: Status, these are all brand new requests, so this is a bit misleading. They will all be submitted and then the requests will move to other statuses one-by-one, some will read In-transit, Received-In use, etc. What’s important is that library staff can quickly and easily take measure of their book clubs and where they all stand in the request life cycle.
