FAMILY MEMBER
This incorporates various roles, including being a daughter, sister,
niece, cousin, and grand-daughter.
I consider my family to be one of the most important and valued
aspects of my life.
FRIEND
My friends are very important to be as I spend a great deal of my time
with them, and they bring me joy and happiness.
I value them as they are very supporting, and a major aspect of my life.
FLATMATE
I see my flatmates as my family away from home, and we have a lot of
fun together.
Being in a flat has also taught me lots of new aspects of living without
parents around, such as cooking, cleaning, and paying bills.
STUDENT
One of the main roles of my life at the moment is being a student in
Dunedin.
I enjoy all of the different and diverse aspects that comes from being a
student, including working hard in my Bachelor of Occupational
Therapy course, to embracing ‘Scarfie’ culture.
MUSICIAN
Music is a great passion of mine, and something I greatly enjoy
engaging in during my leisure time.
I play the piano, flute, and sing as well as enjoying listening to
music that others make.
ART AND CRAFT HOBBYIST
During my spare time, I find pleasure in doing art and craft activities
such as painting, drawing, cross-stitch, origami, and limestone carving.
These occupations are a productive way of spending time, and give a
sense of pride and reward when a finished product is obtained.
SPORT PLAYER
An important part of maintaining my wellbeing is through doing sports
and exercise to stay healthy.
I enjoy participating in sports such as badminton, netball, cricket,
tennis, and attending fitness for fun classes at Unipol gym.
GAMER
During my spare time, I enjoy playing an array of Playstation,
Nintendo, and computer games.
Playing games such as League of Legends, Pokemon, Call of Duty,
and Age of Empires bring me contentment and can be very rewarding.
ANIMAL LOVER
At my home in Wellington, we have a farm which has a variety of
animals including dogs, a cat, sheep, and donkies.
I find great enjoyment when spending time with animals, including
caring for and playing with them.
EMPLOYEE
Throughout my adolescence and early adulthood, I have been
employed in part-time jobs, which has been important for me to learn
responsibility, gain new skills, and have a source of income.
I have worked in numerous places including farm work, babysitting,
Tawa College’s uniform shop, and Kmart.
