Birmingham man, who was saved by pioneering Heart Surgery nearly 30 years ago,
plans to say thanks to the hospital that gave him his life back by donating a
percentage of his profits to the Children’s Heart Appeal.
The Secret Place is an event quite unlike any other that has ever taken place in the
Midlands. It is a networking and social opportunity for local entrepreneurs, those
with individual creative talents, and those just looking for a sophisticated event to
socialise and connect with other like minded people.
At a time when the local economy is struggling and competition for jobs increases,
The Secret Place hopes to offer opportunities for people to make valuable contacts and
form business partnerships in a relaxed and social setting.
The event which takes place on Friday, 29th April 2011 at The Pavillion, Moor Lane,
Birmingham, also hopes to raise money for charity with a percentage of all money
raised being donated to the Cardiac Unit at Birmingham children’s Hospital.
The Children’s Heart Appeal has a special place in the heart of The Secret Place Founder
Nathan Dennis, who was diagnosed as a toddler with a congenital heart condition
called Tetralogy of the Fallot; which involves 4 abnormalities of the heart. At the age
of three he underwent major open heart surgery at Birmingham Children’s Hospital
(BCH). This surgery saved his life, and now nearly 30 years later he wants to encourage
others especially during these tough economic times to support the new appeal at BCH.
It is hoped that The Secret Place event will not only form new networks within
the local community, but will also raise awareness of the new Cardiac Unit and the
great things it does for the Children who attend it suffering from various heart
conditions.
Nathan said: “I hope that my own personal experience inspires others to support the
Children’s Heart Appeal. By attending the Secret Place you will not only open up
opportunities for yourself, but you will also contribute towards helping thousands
of young children who are suffering now the way I suffered nearly 30 years ago. The
event is aimed at those who struggle to take their business idea’s and careers to the
next level due to lack of access to key people that could help them achieve their
dreams, aims and goals. Those who want to exhibit their products, projects or services
are able to do so at the event. It’s also a sophisticated and relaxed setting to socialise
and have fun at the same time.”
