Barack Obama was born in 1961 in Hawaii to a Kenyan father and American mother. He married Michelle Robinson in 1992 and they have two daughters. After graduating from Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he was the first black president of the Harvard Law Review, Obama worked as a civil rights attorney and taught constitutional law. He was elected as the 44th President of the United States in 2008, becoming the first African American to hold the office.
