Demand sensing is a technique that uses advanced pattern recognition and machine learning algorithms to monitor demand signals and predict customer orders. It provides more accurate forecasts than traditional demand planning by reconciling all demand data from different sources. Demand sensing cuts forecast error by over 40% on average and reduces safety stock levels and inventory, while improving order fill rates and service levels. It debunks myths that it is a "black box" or will disrupt planning processes. Customers report benefits like reducing inventory by 35% while improving service.
Demand sensing is a technique that uses advanced pattern recognition and machine learning algorithms to analyze time series demand data from multiple sources to generate more accurate forecasts. It reconciles different demand signals like orders, inventory levels, and point-of-sale data to cut forecast errors by over 40% on average. This allows companies to reduce safety stock by 30% or more, lower finished goods inventory, and save on logistics costs. Several customer examples show reductions in forecast error of 40-50% and inventory cuts of 18-43% through implementing demand sensing.

Managing User Experience During Cloud MigrationseG Innovations
Competition in the digital services world is about managing the customer experience. The cloud is an operating model, and migrating workloads to the cloud involves much more than ‘lift & shift’. In fact, the heavy lifting of cloud migrations may be much more about people than technologies.
Managing customer expectations requires that the user experience be at least as good—if not better—after a cloud migration than it was before the migration took place. Customers really don’t care about the ‘cloud’ per se, they care about the outcomes that cloud-based services can provide.
Learn how you can manage customer expectations and leverage services-oriented monitoring as a program of work within a cloud migration.

REST API Static Security Testing Extension for Microsoft Azure Pipelines: https://bit.ly/42azure
Security is an important topic in software development. Unfortunately, security is usually considered too late in software development, and especially in the API lifecycle. Waiting until software and APIs are in production before addressing security concerns can be a severe risk to your organization. Did you know that vulnerabilities found in production cost up to 30x time and money more to fix?
There is a solution: by engaging developers early, educating them on API threats and uncovering real actionable issues in your APIs, you can act swiftly and save a lot of effort downstream.
In this webinar, we will
- Explain the concepts behind “shifting left” and how it can benefit your organization, both at quality and security levels.
- Explain how auditing your OpenAPI (aka Swagger) definitions gives early visibility to developers of potential security issues in APIs implementation.
- Demonstrate the functionality of the audit and which issues it detects.
- Describe how you can leverage audit at build time to ensure only contracts at the required level of security quality can be deployed.
- Demonstrate our new Azure Pipelines plugin and its discovery mechanism.
- We will be joined in the webinar by Steven Murawski from the Microsoft Azure Cloud Advocacy team.
Manufacturers need to stay ahead of the curve. With innovative methods, new technologies, and increased competition, manufacturing companies need to produce quality products at a competitive price for their customers. Powerful, built-in advanced analytics, stochastic models, and proprietary algorithms provide manufacturing organizations with a new level of decision support to dynamically optimize the various complexities inherent in supply chain interdependencies and enable the achievement of targeted service levels, maximized margins, and minimized costs.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.
