The study investigates the influence of silica fume on the mechanical properties of normal concrete, focusing on compressive strength, compacting factor, and slump across five different mixes with varying silica fume percentages (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%). Results indicated that incorporating silica fume substantially improved compressive strength at all ages, with the highest strength observed at 20% replacement. The study concluded that while silica fume enhances concrete strength, it adversely affects workability, necessitating the use of superplasticizers for optimal performance.
