10. Gastric Bypass Surgery
• Gastric bypass surgery is done to help you lose excess
weight and reduce your risk of potentially life-threatening
weight-related health problems
• In our opinions this diet is very adequate because it helps
with many problems not only weight loss
• The diet included with this surgery is also very practical
because after any surgery eating can be a struggle,
especially with a stomach surgery. This diet starts off with
only liquids and very slowly eases back into normal foods,
giving the proper amounts of nutrients and proteins the
entire time
• We feel that this diet is also very affordable, because there
are many different varieties and options for the diet
11. Gastric Bypass Surgery (continued)
• This is a regimented diet that involves time and
consistency, you must:
• Eat three meals a day
• Chew foods slowly and thoroughly
• Eat small amounts
• Eat protein rich meals
• There are some restrictions in the diet, one is to be
sure not to drink fluids during a meal. This is to
prevent overfilling the stomach and to keep foods
from flushing through the body
• Not following this diet could affect the procedure or
affect the health of the patient from not getting
enough or getting to much of the proteins needed
