Numit is a numbing cream containing lidocaine and prilocaine that creates a skin numbing effect. It works by allowing the local anesthetics to penetrate the skin and target nerve endings, stopping pain signals from starting and spreading. The cream forms a reservoir in the top layer of skin that continues releasing anesthetic into deeper layers, increasing numbness for up to 60 minutes after removal. Numit should be applied at least one hour before a medical procedure.
