RPN, is a numerical assessment
used in the context of risk analysis in a process or a function that helps
teams to prioritize risks based on their potential impact and likelihood of
occurrence. It is commonly used in Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
(FMEA) and similar risk assessment methodologies.
Each failure mode gets a numeric score that quantifies
โก"๐ฆ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐" of harm or damage the failure mode may cause
โก "๐ข๐ฐ๐ฐ๐๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ" the likelihood that the failure will occur
โก "๐๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป" the likelihood that the failure will not be detected
The product of these three scores is the Risk Priority Number (RPN) for that
failure mode.

FMEA AP, or Action Priority, is a rating method that provides a priority
level based on Severity, Occurrence, and Detection values to emphasize
Severity first, then Occurrence, and then Detection.
AP values may:
Highest priority for review and action.
Medium priority for review and action.
Low priority for review and action.
