Although you may not be a formal manager, you have
opportunities to be a leader, even for a short time, as part of a
team or as an individual.
In your current role how do you consider yourself a leader?
What leadership theories best fit you as a leader? Which
theories best fit you when you are leading and when you are a
follower? Are the theories the same at all times? Why or why
not?
number 2
reply to this one based on the above question
Right now I am a stay at home mother, so that is currently my
leadership role. I am a leader to my son and because I am a
parent, I see myself as being strong and authoritative, when it
comes to the “leadership role” of being a mother.
I think the leadership theories that best fit me would be:
Situational
and
Transformational
.
I feel as though one of my greatest strengths is being able to
adapt to new situations very easily. I can also adapt how I am,
to each individual that I am with to best suit what is needed for
them to strive at their respective position.
I also like to lead by example and am confident and optimistic
in my decisions. When I have a goal that needs to be set, I
stand by it and believe the outcome will come with hard work
and the right goal setting.
The theory that best fits me as a follower would probably have
to be
The Charismatic Leader
. I would like to have a leader that is going to be sympathetic +
understanding to problems that occur in the workforce. Having
a leader that is willing to make sacrificies for the best of the
company and is confident is also very important.
I don’t believe that all of the Theories are the same. I believe
that they all have the same basic approach, which is to lead a
team, but the strategies behind each Theory is different.

RE: INVITATION FOR A FEEDBACK ON PERSONAL
BEHAVIOUR AND STYLE
I hope you are fine and in good health. I am writing this letter
to provoke feedback from you concerning my personal
behavioral style. I currently undertook a disc assessment so as
to know my behaviors. As you may have heard, the assessment
categorizes all individuals into four subsets of behavior.
The four subsets are namely: Dominance, influence, steadiness
and conscientiousness.
Accordingly, the results implied that I am a person who places
emphasis in accomplishing results. The results dictate that my
behaviors are: I consist of seeing a big picture. I am blunt. I
accept challenges and I get straight to the point. To make the
results more reliable, I am requesting you to kindly let me know
the kind of a person that I am. Kindly use the descriptive words
that are mainly used to describe individuals in, accordance with
the Disc assessment. Your reply will be highly appreciated
since it will make me best understand my personality.
Yours Sincerely

now with the above feedback you gave on each pretend email
Summarize the feedback you received. How do their perceptions
differ from your own? How will you use
the understanding of both perceptions and styles to better
communicate, lead, and interact?

reply to this based on the above question
I sent my DiSC Assessment profile to five people that I trust
would give me honest feedback, the following were: one
supervisor, two co-workers, one very close personal friend and
my sister.
My DiSC Assessment score was:
INFLUENCE: 41%
Has a strong interest in meeting people.
Optimistic, outgoing and socially skilled.
Quick at establishing relationships.
DOMINANCE: 40%
Enjoys competition and challenges.
Wants authority.
Resourceful and adaptable.
Loses interest once the challenge is gone and tends to be
impatient with minor details.
STEADINESS: 16%
Usually patient, calm and controlled.
Has a high willingness to help others, especially friends.
COMPLIANCE: 3%
Peaceful and not aggressive.
Cautious and not impulsive.
Avoids taking risks.
Strives for a stable ordered life.
My Feedback: All most of them pretty much agreed with the
results that I got, but some of the positive and negative
feedback were:
My Steadiness should be higher, because I do have strong
willingness to help others.
My ability to stay calm and patient isn’t always the best in
every situation.
I do have a great ability though to be patient and controlled.
I do have great communication skills and adapt well with all
different types of personalities.
I am very optimistic and try to see the best in every situation.
I have a very strong desire to win and will work hard to do
whatever it takes.
I honestly feel as though their perception of me is exactly how I
view myself. From this assessment, I’ve realized my strengths
and weaknesses. It helped me realize what I really need to work
on in order to be the successful leader. I think I can
communicate very effectively, but I know that I need to work on
my patience with difficult situation and not make impulsive
decisions. I feel as though those are going to be the two main
things that need to change in order for me to be the leader that I
want to be.

Discuss the social impact that musicians such as Bob Dylan and
the Beatles had on the youth culture of the "baby boomer"/
"Woodstock" generation. Your initial post should be a minimum
of 250 words.
number 7
reply to this based on the above question
The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and Woodstock all came at a very
influential time in America. Dominant culture was taking over
to try and calm the fears of parents, but adolescences like the
baby boomers were ready to experience the world. The Beatles
craze that took over the adolescence of America was actually
approved by parents. They were a wholesome clean-cut boy
band from Britain that caused no controversy. But soon, Bob
Dylan and his raw emotions about America began attracting the
baby boomers, and he was quite influential on The Beatles.
As The Beatles popularity grew, so did their taste for freedom.
They began dabbling in drugs and controversial lyrics, and their
huge fan based followed as well. They soon lost approval of
parents. Unlike The Beatles, parents never approved of Bob
Dylan. He was free spirited and had no problem expressing his
views about America. His political lyrics are said to have
started the hippie movement in the 60’s.
The hippie influence spread rapidly among free spirited baby
boomers. A festival was organized to allow these young adults
to escape from the politics and everyday expectations of
America. The idea behind Woodstock was counter culture, an
opposing viewpoint of everyday norms. Drugs, peace, and love
made up Woodstock. It was everything that parents had fought
so hard to keep away from their children.
I think The Beatles were the gateway that young Americans
needed. At the beginning, they could relate to them. They
slowly changed with The Beatles were then influenced by others
such as Bob Dylan. Soon Bob Dylan captured their attention as
well and helped spread his ideas and emotions. In the end,
Woodstock came to life.

Define the term "suburbia". What were some of the common
values shared by popular culture within the suburban landscape
of the 1950's and 1960's. How did these values begin to shift?
250 word minimum for your initial post.
number 9
reply to this based on the above question
The end of World War II changed the United States in many
ways. The men at war witness that life is fragile, and by the
time they came home from war they realized the importance of
family. They were ready to settle down just as the women were
ready to marry. Like the saying goes,
first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in the
baby carriage
. The baby boom was in full effect! “This boom began in 1946,
when a record number of babies–3.4 million–were born in the
United States. About 4 million babies were born each year
during the 1950s” (The 1950s, 2010). The baby boom officially
ended in 1964 with a whopping 77 million babies born over that
period of time, and they all needed somewhere to live.
Welcome to Suburbia, large developments of mass produced
houses built on the borders of cities. The cities were crowded
and expensive, and moving out of the city was the most cost
effective solution. “These houses were perfect for young
families–they had informal “family rooms,” open floor plans
and backyards” (The 1950’s, 2010). Suburbs promised the
perfect place to raise a family by offering the dominant culture
way of life in safe communities, and by leaving behind all the
negative influences the cites held.
William Levitt was one of the pioneers of suburbia. Levitt
“began to buy land on the outskirts of cities and use mass
production techniques to build modest, inexpensive tract houses
there” (The 1950’s, 2010). Because they were mass-produced,
he was able to offer these family homes at a reasonable price.
Young parents jumped on this idea, and soon the suburbs were
flooded with newly weds, young parents, and children
everywhere.
The 1950s. (2010).

number 1answer this one in a pargraphAlthough you may not be.docx

  • 1. number 1 answer this one in a pargraph Although you may not be a formal manager, you have opportunities to be a leader, even for a short time, as part of a team or as an individual. In your current role how do you consider yourself a leader? What leadership theories best fit you as a leader? Which theories best fit you when you are leading and when you are a follower? Are the theories the same at all times? Why or why not? number 2 reply to this one based on the above question Right now I am a stay at home mother, so that is currently my leadership role. I am a leader to my son and because I am a parent, I see myself as being strong and authoritative, when it comes to the “leadership role” of being a mother. I think the leadership theories that best fit me would be: Situational and Transformational . I feel as though one of my greatest strengths is being able to adapt to new situations very easily. I can also adapt how I am, to each individual that I am with to best suit what is needed for them to strive at their respective position. I also like to lead by example and am confident and optimistic in my decisions. When I have a goal that needs to be set, I stand by it and believe the outcome will come with hard work and the right goal setting. The theory that best fits me as a follower would probably have
  • 2. to be The Charismatic Leader . I would like to have a leader that is going to be sympathetic + understanding to problems that occur in the workforce. Having a leader that is willing to make sacrificies for the best of the company and is confident is also very important. I don’t believe that all of the Theories are the same. I believe that they all have the same basic approach, which is to lead a team, but the strategies behind each Theory is different. number 3 below is 5 emails i sent out for pretend you will reply to each email as that person i wrote to. When you reply you will reply with feedback of my leadership style. When you do reply make sure all of the replys are very good about me. Email 1. • 7. I sent my DiSC Assessment profile to five people that I trust would give me honest feedback, the following were: one supervisor, two co-workers, one very close personal friend and my sister. My DiSC Assessment score was: INFLUENCE: 41% Has a strong interest in meeting people. Optimistic, outgoing and socially skilled. Quick at establishing relationships. DOMINANCE: 40% Enjoys competition and challenges. Wants authority. Resourceful and adaptable. Loses interest once the challenge is gone and tends to be impatient with minor details. STEADINESS: 16% Usually patient, calm and controlled. Has a high willingness to help others, especially friends. COMPLIANCE: 3% Peaceful and not aggressive. Cautious and not impulsive. Avoids taking risks. Strives for a stable ordered life. My Feedback: All most of them pretty much agreed with the results that I got, but some of the positive and negative feedback were: My Steadiness should be higher, because I do have strong willingness to help others. My ability to stay calm and patient isn’t always the best in every situation. I do have a great ability though to be patient and controlled. I do have great communication skills and adapt well with all different types of personalities. I am very optimistic and try to see the best in every situation. I have a very strong desire to win and will work hard to do
  • 8. whatever it takes. I honestly feel as though their perception of me is exactly how I view myself. From this assessment, I’ve realized my strengths and weaknesses. It helped me realize what I really need to work on in order to be the successful leader. I think I can communicate very effectively, but I know that I need to work on my patience with difficult situation and not make impulsive decisions. I feel as though those are going to be the two main things that need to change in order for me to be the leader that I want to be. number 6 Discuss the social impact that musicians such as Bob Dylan and the Beatles had on the youth culture of the "baby boomer"/ "Woodstock" generation. Your initial post should be a minimum of 250 words. number 7 reply to this based on the above question The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and Woodstock all came at a very influential time in America. Dominant culture was taking over to try and calm the fears of parents, but adolescences like the baby boomers were ready to experience the world. The Beatles craze that took over the adolescence of America was actually approved by parents. They were a wholesome clean-cut boy band from Britain that caused no controversy. But soon, Bob Dylan and his raw emotions about America began attracting the baby boomers, and he was quite influential on The Beatles. As The Beatles popularity grew, so did their taste for freedom. They began dabbling in drugs and controversial lyrics, and their
  • 9. huge fan based followed as well. They soon lost approval of parents. Unlike The Beatles, parents never approved of Bob Dylan. He was free spirited and had no problem expressing his views about America. His political lyrics are said to have started the hippie movement in the 60’s. The hippie influence spread rapidly among free spirited baby boomers. A festival was organized to allow these young adults to escape from the politics and everyday expectations of America. The idea behind Woodstock was counter culture, an opposing viewpoint of everyday norms. Drugs, peace, and love made up Woodstock. It was everything that parents had fought so hard to keep away from their children. I think The Beatles were the gateway that young Americans needed. At the beginning, they could relate to them. They slowly changed with The Beatles were then influenced by others such as Bob Dylan. Soon Bob Dylan captured their attention as well and helped spread his ideas and emotions. In the end, Woodstock came to life. number 8 Define the term "suburbia". What were some of the common values shared by popular culture within the suburban landscape of the 1950's and 1960's. How did these values begin to shift? 250 word minimum for your initial post. number 9 reply to this based on the above question The end of World War II changed the United States in many ways. The men at war witness that life is fragile, and by the time they came home from war they realized the importance of family. They were ready to settle down just as the women were ready to marry. Like the saying goes, first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in the
  • 10. baby carriage . The baby boom was in full effect! “This boom began in 1946, when a record number of babies–3.4 million–were born in the United States. About 4 million babies were born each year during the 1950s” (The 1950s, 2010). The baby boom officially ended in 1964 with a whopping 77 million babies born over that period of time, and they all needed somewhere to live. Welcome to Suburbia, large developments of mass produced houses built on the borders of cities. The cities were crowded and expensive, and moving out of the city was the most cost effective solution. “These houses were perfect for young families–they had informal “family rooms,” open floor plans and backyards” (The 1950’s, 2010). Suburbs promised the perfect place to raise a family by offering the dominant culture way of life in safe communities, and by leaving behind all the negative influences the cites held. William Levitt was one of the pioneers of suburbia. Levitt “began to buy land on the outskirts of cities and use mass production techniques to build modest, inexpensive tract houses there” (The 1950’s, 2010). Because they were mass-produced, he was able to offer these family homes at a reasonable price. Young parents jumped on this idea, and soon the suburbs were flooded with newly weds, young parents, and children everywhere. The 1950s. (2010). History.com .
