INITIAL/DRAFT PACIFIC STRATEGY STRATEGIC PRIORITY #1:  IMPROVING PACIFIC STUDENT RECRUITMENT, PARTICIPATION, RETENTION AND COMPLETION OF COURSES AT EIT FROM CERTIFICATE THROUGH TO DEGREE LEVEL.  What can EIT do to increase the number and achievement of Pacific Island students? STRATEGIC PRIORITY #2:  BUILDING ON RELATIONSHIPS WITH SECONDARY SCHOOLS ESPECIALLY THOSE WITH A HIGH PROPORTION OF PACIFIC STUDENTS. How can we link with schools and Pacific students?  STRATEGIC PRIORITY #3:  WORKING WITH THE EIT STUDENT’S ASSOCIATION, STUDENT NETWORKS  AND STAFF TO CREATE A WELCOMING, SAFE AND SECURE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT  FOR PACIFIC STUDENTS AT EIT. EIT PACIFIC STRATEGIC PLAN Outcome 1:   Improved Pacific student recruitment, participation, retention and completion of programmes at EIT from certificate through to degree level. Outcome 2:   Creation of a welcoming, safe and secure learning environment for Pacific students at EIT within which they may flourish and achieve.

What can EIT do to increase the number and achievement of Pacific Island students?
