The document summarizes an ongoing project to improve an 18-mile stretch of Interstate 35W in Fort Worth, Texas. The project will add managed toll lanes in each direction and is being completed in three segments. Segment 3A from I-30 to I-820 is under construction now and is expected to be completed by 2018. Segment 3B from I-820 to US 81/287 started construction in 2013 and should finish by 2016. Plans for Segment 3C from US 81/287 to Eagle Parkway include bidding for construction in late 2015. The project aims to reduce congestion on one of the most congested roadways in Texas by doubling the capacity of I-35W through Fort Worth.

Dr Michelle Zeibots of the UTS Institute for Sustainable Futures explains why WestCONnex won't work. Topics covered include how new motorways and roads induce demand and fail to ease congestion; how tolls push drivers onto non-tolled roads; why improving public transport is more effective; and more.

Testing and Performance of Parabolic Trough Collector in Indian climateIJSRD
A parabolic trough collector is a type of solar thermal collector that is straight in one dimension and curved as a parabola in the other two, lined with a polished metal. The energy of sunlight which enters the mirror parallel to its plane of symmetry is focused along the focal line, where object is positioned that is intended to be heated. It consists of a tube, which runs the length of the trough at its focal line. The mirror is oriented so that sunlight which it reflects is concentrated on the tube, which contains a fluid which is heated to a high temperature by the energy of the sunlight. The hot fluid can be used for many purposes.
QoS -Aware Spectrum Sharing for Multi-Channel Vehicular NetworkIJSRD
We consider QoS -aware band sharing in cognitive wireless networks where secondary users are allowed to access the band owned by a primary network provider. The intrusion from secondary users to primary users is forced to be below the tolerable limit. Also, signal to intrusion plus noise ratio (SINR) of each secondary user is maintained higher than a required level for QoS cover. When network load is high, admission control needs to be performed to satisfy both QoS and intrusion constraint. We propose an admission control algorithm which is performed jointly with power manage such that QoS needs of all admitted secondary users are satisfied while keeping the intrusion to primary users below the passable limit. When all secondary users can be supported at minimum rates, we allow them to increase their spread rates and share the spectrum in a fair manner. We formulate the joint power/rate allocation with max-min equality principle as an optimization problem. We show how to change it into a convex optimization problem so that its globally most favourable solution can be obtained. Numerical grades show that the proposed admission control algorithm achieves performance very close to the optimal solution.

Performance Characteristic of Infinitely Short BearingIJSRD
An attempt has been made to analyse to performance of an infinitely rough short bearing. Here in solving the associated Reynold`s type equation in new boundary conditions involving the standard deviation associated with roughness has been used. The pressure, load carrying capacity and friction are calculated. It is found that the roughness parameter significantly affects all the above performance characteristic. It is observed that effect due to the roughness compounded by taking the effect of standard deviation on the boundary conditions.
