Grants will provide support for economically disadvantaged people, especially children, to improve educational outcomes through access to services and resources. Programs are encouraged to use youth engagement and service-learning to boost school readiness in early childhood, academic performance in K-12 schools, and prospects for success in post-secondary education. The grants will be measured based on gains in skills like literacy, numeracy, and social development for children, as well as academic indicators for K-12 students participating in mentoring, tutoring, or service-learning programs.
